There is a debate that we must have.

We cannot ignore Justice. We cannot re-define it. We cannot make it disappear. We must confront it.

There are those who will argue that it would be too divisive for our country if some people were held accountable for their crimes. They argue that it would tear the country apart. There would be riots in the street.

The nation needs this debate. We cannot permit politics to determine the course of justice. We cannot permit one side to argue that crimes can be overlooked because their side cannot be held accountable. We cannot permit threats of violence to prevent justice from taking its course. We must stand as all courageous Americans must stand.

We cannot permit mob violence, from any quarter, for any reason. We have a jury system that permits any citizen the right to a fair trial by his peers. That is the best solution we have discovered up to this time.

But, one thing is for certain.

We cannot ignore Justice.

The five basic principles set forth in the Preamble to the Constitution

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

(You will note that the very first objective is to "establish Justice". )

Is the FBI likely to get any information off the phones they have seized?

...from different Trump associates?

Surely, they have had time to delete any incriminating messages? Or perhaps they became complacent and they have recent messages they forgot to delete?

It would be interesting to know what is on the phone of Boris Epshteyn? He was probably more closely attached to Putin and Russian interests than any other Trump "adviser? He is known as someone that promotes Russian business interests. How often did he and Trump communicate?

It's unknown what might be on the "Pillow Guy's" phone? There may be conversations with aliens and he will show the proof... in a couple of weeks. He was permitted to speak with Trump, if for no other reason than his large contributions of cash.

Brian Jack is a very interesting case which might prove productive for the FBI? As I understand, he was like the middle communication man between the White House and members of Congress as they were conspiring to install fake electors and steal the election. Some interesting names may come up?

It's too bad we cannot look into a crystal ball and see the future.

What will the rest of the world think of America if Donald Trump is permitted to walk away from his dangerous, treasonous crimes?

What will most of America think if that happens?

Will the government be considered "legitimate"? Will the people simply forget about it and move on?

Will there be violence and which side will it come from? Or will it come from all sides?

How important is justice to the survival of our democracy?

Can a criminally-inclined minority dictate the future of this country?

What happens when one political Party cannot hold their own accountable?

Is this the last chance for America?

Or is it already too late to save?

Does anyone have those answers?

What would it take for Republicans to stand up for their country over their Party leaders?

What would it take for them to speak out against espionage, stealing national secrets, and attacks upon the symbol of our democracy, the nation's Capitol?

What would it take for them to defend their country? Is there anything?

A stranger to our shores would believe they were enemies of this nation. Most of them are silent. They say nothing. But their silence speaks volumes. They betray our Constitution.

If they cannot defend our country in these times, can they ever defend it?

Is it that they believe so long as any part of our government is run by the Democrats, then they cannot support it? It makes no difference what the majority of the country might think? Do they expect Democrats to support them when they are in power, in the same way? That sort of thinking and division is not workable in a democracy.

How many Republicans have you heard speak out against the crimes that we have witnessed from the former president and his regime?

Maybe it would be wise to think twice before attempting to over-throw our government?

Mike Lindell, the Pillow Guy, stopped at an Hardee's to get one of their sandwiches, and was immediately surrounded by FBI agents, who seized his cell phone. 'Would you like handcuffs with that order?"

Donald Trump is afraid to make a phone call, fearful that they are listening to his every word.

About forty or Trump's former aides were subpoenaed in the last week. They must have thought they had escaped the scrutiny of Merrick Garland and the DOJ? A couple of them, including the Russian agent, Boris Epshteyn, also had their phones seized.

Many of the insurrectionists probably feel lucky that they got off with such light sentences? It could have been much worse for such a serious offense as attacking our Capitol.

Now the chickens are coming home to roost. All those sycophants that followed behind Trump, to see who could kiss his ass first, are now being subpoenaed and questioned.

Many of his lawyers are now in legal difficulties for getting involved in the criminal enterprise run by Donald Trump. No doubt, many of them regret that they ever took the job. They never dreamed that someday they would be held accountable.

Perhaps this should be a lesson for all of America. If your politics involves breaking the law, maybe you best step back and think about it?

Listening to a bit of right-wing radio this morning...

While on an errand, I turned on the guy that took Limbaugh's place on the radio. (I can't recall his name)

He was ranting about how something had to be done about the Biden DOJ and Merrick Garland. They had gone off the rails with all their investigations and subpoenas. They had lost touch with reality.

My interpretation of what he was saying was that nobody in the Trump Administration broke any laws and especially, not Trump. This was all a witch hunt by Merrick Garland and the DOJ. There was no need for any investigations. It was all politics by Joe Biden and his DOJ.

Something has to be done about them. They were going after innocent people who had done nothing.

That was the message I heard in the short time I was able to bear it.

A One-Man Crime Wave

Does a day go by that Trump does not break a law?

If he's not stealing money from the rubes, he's stealing money from the government.

If he's not lying about his wealth, he is lying about his political enemies.

If he's not trying to launder money for the Russians, he's laundering his dirty linen in public.

When he wants to sell something, he over-estimates its value. When he is called to pay taxes on it, it is always worth a lot less.

When he is not trying to extort someone to do his bidding, he is trying to bribe them to keep them from exposing his crimes and misdemeanors.

If he cannot win an election, he will try to steal it.

If he has to leave the White House, he will take all the secrets with him.

He will not be denied. The threat of jail has never been a concern for him.

Because he knows how to play the justice system.

John Yoo is saying that the DOJ should not focus on the less serious crimes like espionage...

...and the theft of top secret documents, and the possible sale of these documents to America's adversaries and enemies. Instead, they should focus on the serious crimes of January 6th, such as an attempted coup and the conspiracy to steal the election.

John Yoo, for those who remember, was the author of the "torture" memos during the Bush Administration. "Torture" was OK in his book. And they proceeded to follow his directions.

But, fortunately, Merrick Garland is not listening to John Yoo. He is following all the evidence. Espionage is a serious crime. Stealing documents and hiding them and then lying about it are very serious crimes. It is not a misdemeanor.

Attempting a coup and an overthrow of the elected government is also very serious. As is the attempted extortion of elected officials to change votes to favor the losing candidate. Election fraud is very serious.

Since the August recess of Congress, Merrick Garland has been full speed ahead. Just in the last week, he has issued about 40 subpoenas, perhaps more, to those under investigation in the January 6th attack. It was almost a surprise attack.

So, contrary to what John Yoo, Bill Barr, and others might wish for the AG not to indict the former president, that does not appear to be the direction he is headed. Donald Trump will be called to answer for his crimes.
