Thank You for the Hearts!!

So very kind.

Tired of the Meme That Harris/Booker Show That "Democrats Have a Problem"

Of course every development of any kind is always dooooooom, doooom for the Democrats in the eyes of the media, but today I'm seeing some of this on DU as well and it puzzles me. First off, I was a Harris supporter but have now switched to Biden and I'm saddened that she ended her campaign.

BUT this isn't indicative of some huge diversity problem that the Democrats allegedly have. It's more a combination of three factors:

1. Harris ran a pretty poor campaign and failed to adjust when needed (probably most notably after the first debate);
2. Booker's campaign has been phony and tin-eared and he just hasn't resonated;
3. Huge numbers of black voters support Joe Biden.

With Biden already in the race and the first choice of so many African-Americans, and with Booker and Harris doing poorly as candidates no matter what their race, there really is no evidence of some systemic problem with the Democratic primary process. Particularly when we just had a Democratic black president from 2009-2017. And as far the claims that there aren't enough women, I just don't get it. Warren and the relatively surging Klobuchar are both very much in this, and our very last nominee three years ago was a woman.

Stop feeding into the Politico/The Hill-style "Dems in Disarray - Oh Noes!!!!!11" nonsense. There's enough of that coming from the other side and foreign bots already, thanks very much.

Anyone Know When NBC/MSNBC Is Rerunning Wednesday's Debate?

I had to miss it due to work and I'd like to catch up on it over the weekend. (I've remembered to record it tonight.) Or maybe there's a way I can stream Wednesday's session? Thanks to anyone who knows.

CA-25: Hill (D) Wins, Knight Concedes

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye, Steve.

Katie Hill is an extraordinarily impressive person with a background assisting the homeless and ran a near-flawless campaign. She will be a wonderful addition to Congress.

I Am Making It My Personal Mission

To see to it that Susan Collins is no longer a United States Senator after January of 2021. She's unfit for the job and a sad joke.

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN (D-MA)

There are tears on my face. She did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We took Teddy Kennedy's seat back from that male model fake moderate tool.

Her performance in the debates was brilliant and she stands to be a fantastic, fantastic United States Senator.

Congratulations to the senator-elect and all those who worked so hard to see her elected.

This Is One Hell of a Speech

In Northern Virginia, Obama is on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's after a fantastic intro by Bill Clinton and what I assume was a good concert by Dave Matthews. The place holds 25,000 and looks jampacked.

Watching this, I find it hard to believe that Mittens is going to take Virginia.

On Any New State Presidential Poll, Look at the Senate Totals

So this applies to OH, FL, VA, NV, and WI but not to CO, NC, IA, or NH (assuming that IA and NH are not in the bag for Obama, which I believe that they are), because there are no Senate races in the latter group.

There is no way that Brown, Nelson, Kaine, and Baldwin (I'm omitting NV there because the polling is all over the place and because Berkley may have her polling numbers understated by the inability of Nevada pollsters to count Latino voters, which we clearly saw in both 2008 and 2010) are winning, most of them comfortably, while Obama is losing or winning by tight margins.

Here's what I mean: MAYYYYYYYBE you can say that since Nelson in FL is no liberal, there are ticket-splitters, but Brown and Baldwin are huge liberals and Kaine is about as liberal as you get for a Virginia senator.

So before you worry about some silly state poll result, look at the Senate race polling. If there's a disconnect, assume the presidential polling is off.

And yes, Gallup is a joke, and a lot of LV models out there are probably going to look pretty silly in about 18 days.
