For those of you who are willing to vote against your selfish self interests, I feel sorry for you
For those dumb enough to vote against your selfish self interest, I feel sorry for you.
I really do. I feel sorry for you because you are willing to put passion, and in this case misplaced anger, ahead of common sense. I feel sorry for anyone who is that irrational.
Four Sanders staffers knowingly copied data which they knew they should have never accessed, whether the firewall is down or not, and then stowed that data for future use. And don't tell me it it wasn't wrong - had Republicans done the same thing we would all crying foul as loud as possible. Bernie doesn't need that kind of help from his staff I can assure you. He is too good a man - and he doesn't need this kind of scandal.
Then Bernie's staff gets into a public fight with the DNC - none of us need that kind of publicity. The Republicans are laughing and eating popcorn for heavens sakes. And then what do Sander's supporter do? They blame the whole thing on Hillary Clinton. You have to wonder how rational some folks are.
But here is the bottom line folks - if you can't calm down sooner or later and support the eventual Democratic nominee - whoever that may be - just go, and go now! And don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out! You are a much smaller percentage of the electorate than you believe. Maybe you can post of the Green Party Underground, because you won't be welcome here.

The Republican Fear Factor
I watched the entire Republican Presidential debate night before last. It was difficult, but someone has to sacrifice in order to keep up with what the other side is up to. Okay, Ill come clean; the real reasons I watched was to enjoy the food fights and hear what utterly stupid proposals came out of Trumps mouth this time around. And I wasnt disappointed.
With the primary topic of the debate being national security, the nine Republicans at the big boy table took turns trying to convince the television audience that they would bring the most muscular approach to being Commander in Chief and are best suited to protect the American people from ISIS. Of course, for this strategy to be effective people must first be convinced there is something to fear. Instilling fear and then using that fear to manipulate the public as means to obtain your objectives is one of the primary tools of conservative politicians. Reference: Those Who Would Use Fear
So it was not at surprising then that most of the candidates participating in the debate did their best to over emphasis the danger ISIS poses to the American people. There were numerous references to World War III. The specter of ISIS terrorists sneaking into the country pretending to be innocent Syrian immigrants was raised several times. Christie even insinuated that mothers should be afraid to send their children to school every morning. Of course, there was no mention that Americans are many hundreds of times more likely to be killed by gun violence or die in an automobile accident than to be involved in a terrorist attack. Also unmentioned is the pesky little fact that you are far more likely to be struck by lighting you are to be injured or killed by terrorists.
Of course it wouldnt profit the Republican candidates to remind us that the purpose of terrorists is to terrorize and to use that fear to achieve their goals. That would remind us that the candidates are essentially acting as agents of ISIS by spreading fear for their own ends. They are certainly not going to remind us that by fanning the flames of fear of all Muslims, they are unwitting aiding ISIS in recruiting future terrorists. The more the American Muslim community feels marginalized, persecuted and hated, the more likely it is that unstable individuals within that community will be become radicalized and drawn to terrorism.
What bothers me the most about all of this is that their strategy works. The Republican candidates know their audience well. They know that typical conservatives, despite all of their bluster and love of guns, are actually cowards who.....

The Fear of the Fear Mongers
Conservatives have long used fear as a tool to obtain their political objectives. However, fear and dread is now seeping into the minds of establishment Republican leaders. The outsiders in the GOP Presidential race were supposed to have faded from the scene by now, replaced by establishment candidates known to be more appealing to the middle of the road independents who will decide the next Presidential election. One of the outsiders, Fionina has been reduced to the status of an also ran, and Carsons popularity has waned somewhat. However, Trump remains at the top of the top of the heap in almost every poll and seems to have grown stronger with each additional outrageous statement. Cruz, the insider with excellent outsider credentials has surged.
On the other hand, all of the establishment candidates except Rubio have receded to the back of the pack. While Rubios star had been on the rise, he now seems to be having trouble getting additional traction with Republican voters. What should be even more alarming to Republican leaders is the fact that all of the establishment candidates combined only account for about 30% of the votes in most national and early state polls. Meanwhile together the outsiders - Trump, Cruz, and Carson fairly consistently account for over 60% of the vote in those same poles.
Ever since the late 1990s when the migration of the far right Southern voters to the Republican Party was nearing completion, the Republican establishment has maintained an uneasy alliance with its ultra conservative base. .........

Note to Sander Supporters: Bernie Sanders is not Barack Obama
I am reading in post after post, Barack did it, so can Bernie. Sure, as in any two people there are similarities, but in so many ways I can't count them all - the differences between President Obama and Bernie Sanders are startling.
