Andrea Mitchell: “Hurray Donald: Screw Hillary”

Mitchell thinks that Trump is tough on terrorism and that Hillary Isn’t.

“This really does put Hillary Clinton on the spot,” the MSNBC host opined. “She has campaigned on her resume, on her advantages having been part of the administrations — secretary of state, a senator on Armed Services [committee] — yet, Donald Trump is still communicating toughness in a way that she hasn’t been able to.”

Let me say this as politely as I can. Fuck Andrea Mitchell and her opinions.

Donald Trump will spend the rest of his life as a punchline

And there will be nothing that he, his money, his henchmen, or anyone else can do about it.

He will spend his twilight years taking names and planning revenge. But he will live out the rest of his life as a bitter, hate filled, hollow old man, shouting lies that will echo off the walls of his empty castles.

Trump might not make it to election day

One need not be a psychiatrist to see that there's something radically wrong with Trump. No one can control what he decides to say or do and he's obviously surrounded by people who tell him how great he is.

Given his behavior to date, he may well do something so openly demented before election day that even the GOP leadership will be forced to disown him. I have no idea what that "something" might be, but he seems capable of anything.

Imagine him on a debate stage with Hillary. Given his temperment, I hope that the Secret Service watches him as closely as they watch those around him.

Dear Bernie supporters. Please. Stop!

We are facing a real danger to this country. And for those of you who don't grasp that danger, google, ask your great grandparents, or go read something about Germany in 1933.

Right now, we are in a greater danger than most people are willing to acknowledge or recognize. Trump is the biggest danger to this country that we've seen since WWII, (or Richard Nixon, or the "America First" hateful American pricks who tried to keep us from fighting Germany).

I know what it's like to fall in love with a candidate. As a matter of fact, look at those who have fallen in love with Trump as an example. And, no. Bernie is not Trump. He's a man that I would love to see in the White House.

But the time has come to choose a candidate. Hillary or Trump. The choice is yours.

And if you really don't see the difference between the two, I pity you. And I also pity what this country would be if we lived under a Trump Reich.

And for those of you who spit on this post for one reason or another because Bernie won't be prez, don't complain about what you will have to live with. You will have made it possible.

America has crossed the insanity line and

is now in un-chartered territory.

The Republican nominee to be, Trump, is more than a scam artist and a buffoon. He's a psychopathic narcissist, and an extremely ignorant man who knows nothing of foreign policy, should never be anywhere near the nuclear codes, and who might appoint some modern-day Caligula to the Supreme Court.

But the Archie Bunkers out there are buying his every word, even though he contradicts his own words seconds after they come out of his mouth. His voters are gobbling up his crap and intentionally ignoring the danger he presents. Or perhaps they are too ignorant to recognize that danger. And that's a really scary scenario.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is in an ugly war with itself over a left-wing liberal and a slightly-to-the-right centrist. Were the party unified, either candidate could easily defeat the nut with the orange on top, and perhaps help win back the Senate and the house.

If someone wrote a book with this as the plot, it would be turned down by every editor in the publishing business as too far out there.

Yet, here we are, facing this scenario, and it seems that almost half the voters in this country are backing the deranged snake-oil peddler.

We now know the definition of insanity and we've crashed through it into a new world. Emotions have crushed reason, anger and hatred have replaced measured thought. No matter who wins, this ugliness isn't going away anytime soon.

So prepare yourselves for a dark, perhaps violent era. The path toward such an era has been laid. And no matter who becomes president, reconciliation doesn't seem to be at hand.

One request: I may be wasting my time, but I would ask that posts that belong on GD-P don't show up here. Let's see if we can get just a bit of sanity going here to start healing Democratic Underground. After all, if not here, where? If not now, when?

I’m beyond pissed. Here’s why:

A snake oil salesman, Trump, has an actual chance at being nominated and elected president.

The alternative to him is an immense-sized turd named Cruz, who is hated by the entire Republican Party.

There may be enough ignorant/know-nothing/bigots to elect one of these two. (Don’t ever again wonder how genocidal maniacs come to power.)

The entire media is busy denying they had anything to do with this grotesque situation.

Many terrified Republicans are falling in line behind Trump “just in case he wins.”

If Trump or Cruz becomes president, make sure your passport is up to date. (Not that anyplace on this planet would be safe from their insanity.)

But here’s what really pisses me off: We Democrats are busy fighting a Bernie/Hillary war. It seems that we are too busy to fight a clear and present danger to our country, (and possibly the survival of this planet).

And this is the one thing that pisses me off than anything else: The incredible stupidity of far too many American voters. I’d really like to say, “Fuck them." They deserve what they get. The problem is that all the rest of us will get fucked just as badly.

I wish I could suggest some kind of solution. And I guess we’ll have to wait until the election in November to see what happens.

But no matter what happens, the Trump/Cruz voters aren’t going away. And their toxic hatred will poison American politics for decades to come.

Are we humans an evolutionary mistake?

We humans, as far as we know, are the most advanced species on this planet. Over many millennia, a few members of our species have figured out that we are one small planet orbiting a star, in a universe of countless stars, galaxies, etc. Einstein figured out the speed limit of the universe, and that time and space are a single entity.

Others have discovered cures to diseases, and countless ways in which to heal humans and other living creatures. And still others have figured out so much more about how, and why things work.

Human scientists have discovered and interpreted so much more than most us can even begin to grasp. It really boggles the mind how far human knowledge has advanced with such infinitesimal clues.

Yet, when we look at the behavioral/belief aspects of human beings, we seem to be incredibly childlike, superstitious, and determined to destroy ourselves well before we can reach maturity.

The history of human behavior has demonstrated the genius with which we humans use scientific advancements to destroy other human beings. The most important thing we seem to have learned from the scientific revelations of the past is how to more efficiently kill each other.

And beyond that, we have divided ourselves by geography, color, language, tribes, dogma, and every other imaginable human characteristic.

But this is DU, so let me get to the point. The current primary campaign of the Republican Party is beyond an embarrassment to the human species. Trump? Cruz? The rest? The phrase “clown car” is totally insufficient, but it was the best we could do. In reality, the term “Knuckle Draggers” has become an almost meaningless cliché, but more closely describes the GOP lineup of both those who have dropped out and those still running.

Their expressed “values,” “world views,” and “solutions,” are a mountain of bullshit so immense as to require the largest herd of cattle that ever existed to produce it. And, of course, these candidates and ex-candidates know it. They’re playing to the lowest common denominator of what can charitably be called “human intelligence.” They’ll say or do anything, anything, necessary to get the nomination.

So let me say this. Given the state of today’s Republican Party, I really believe that those with all the traits of Caligula, Mussolini, or worse could be considered “viable” candidates by the poor ignorant fools who are casting votes or backing them in caucuses. For some insane reason, Fox “News” has more influence on “human thought” than the concepts of Galileo, or Stephan Hawking.

It really makes one wonder if the human species is an evolutionary mistake that will go the way of the dinosaurs.

And of course, there’s the Dem primary. But this is not the forum to discuss our differences. I’ll just say we hold differing versions of a future that is far Superior than anything that can ever be offered to us by a Republican Party that has gone off the deep end.

Advise to DUers: Stay off the DU Primaries Forum

If you haven't posted there yet, don't.

I did my first post today. And right now, I'm not sure whether I'm an antisemitic, communist piece of shit, or a wingnut infiltrator who hates humans and eats kittens.

I can't wait until this election is over. The DU Primaries Forum seems to be a tremendously hate-filled place where otherwise sane Democrats have lost their minds. Any remark or response you post is immediately twisted and used to "prove" that you are either for or against Bernie/Hillary/Whoever. Or perhaps I should say Hillary/Bernie/Whoever. After all, putting someone's name first matters.

My congratulations and best wishes to Skinner et.al. for recognizing that a Primaries Forum was needed. It has isolated a "poisonous strain" from the rest of DU. We all have pockets of hatred within ourselves. In this case, Isolation was a wise, civilized, Democratic idea.

Cruz's "New York Values" is code for Jewish

I spent much of my life in New York. And last week, when Ted Cruz accused Donald Trump of having "New York Values," I heard it as a code word for "Jewish." It seems I'm not alone in hearing this dog whistle. Here's an excerpt from Dana Milbank's column from today's Washington Post.

When Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) last month mocked Donald Trump’s “New York values,” it wasn’t entirely clear what he was implying.

This week we got a clue: For Cruz, “New York” is another way of saying “Jewish.”

At an event in New Hampshire, Cruz, the Republican Iowa caucuses winner, was asked about campaign money he and his wife borrowed from Goldman Sachs. Cruz, asserting that Trump had “upward of $480 million of loans from giant Wall Street banks,” said: “For him to make this attack, to use a New York term, it’s the height of chutzpah.” Cruz, pausing for laughter after the phrase “New York term,” exaggerated the guttural “ch” to more laughter and applause.

But “chutzpah,” of course, is not a “New York” term. It’s a Yiddish — a Jewish — one. And using “New York” as a euphemism for “Jewish” has long been an anti-Semitic dog whistle.

The media, The Donald and Sarah

Aaauuuggghhh.

A story like this is what you'd expect to see on the tabloids at the check-out counter.

If stupid is a disease, the American Main Stream Media is infected beyond all hope.

Yeah, I know. They've spent many years now covering non-news, and filling air time with the stupidity of pundits interviewing other pundits.

However, treating "Sarah endorses Trump" as serious "News," has finally pushed the "News Business" to the bottom of the sewer.

If they covered this story at all it should have been in whatever section they cover UFO sightings.

Welcome to modern day American politics and the media that covers it.

Perhaps, someday in the future, this current era will be looked back upon as an aberration. An era in which insanity became the norm.

It seems that Orwell's "1984" and Huxley's "Brave New World" missed the actual craziness that has come into being.
