NYU Professor and Feminist Scholar Found Responsible for Inappropriate Physical Contact, Sexual Text

https://www.nyunews.com/2018/08/13/08-13-ronell-accusations/

An 11-month Title IX investigation headed by NYU’s Office of Equal Opportunity found Professor of German and Comparative Literature Avital Ronell responsible for “inappropriate physical contact” and sending sexual texts to former graduate student Nimrod Reitman. Ronell has been suspended for the upcoming academic year for the policy violations.

Ronell — a leading feminist scholar — was Reitman’s doctoral advisor. In the report, he alleges that over the course of three years, starting in the spring of 2012, the professor nonconsensually touched his body and kissed his cheeks and lips on many occasions. On one occasion before he officially began his doctorate program, Reitman alleged that in Ronell’s apartment in Paris, she “… touched his crotch over his clothes, with her buttocks, by pushing her body into his.” Among descriptions of similar encounters, he said Ronell made him lie in her bed, refused to work with him if he did not reciprocate and emailed and called him constantly.

This story is wild.

Nevada inmate charged in 1984 hammer killings near Denver

Source: NBC

AURORA, Colorado — A Nevada inmate convicted of attacking a couple with an ax handle in their bedroom is being charged with killing four people with a hammer in suburban Denver over 30 years ago, authorities announced Friday.

Local and state law enforcement officials said DNA evidence ties Alexander Christopher Ewing to the slayings of Patricia Louise Smith, 50, in Lakewood and three members of the Bennett family in Aurora in 1984.

A hammer was used to kill Smith on Jan. 10, 1984. About a week later, a different hammer was used to kill Bruce and Debra Bennett and their 7-year-old daughter Melissa in Aurora. A 3-year-old daughter, Vanessa, was injured but survived.

The two cases were tied together by DNA evidence.

This was a pretty well known cold case. DNA does it again.

Just a reminder....the Jackass Radicals are not with the left and never were.

In regards to Whitmer's Michigan primary victory

1. Barf

That Shri Tander or whatever only ran as a spoiler. And I heard there were problems with the voting machines/ballots, etc. I hope the fucking Republican wins.

Thankfully, El-Sayed appears as if he will throw his full support behind our nominee. But, as they are fond of saying at that shithole "This is not about one candidate blah blah blah" so I'm sure they'll tell him to fuck off by this afternoon.

Jesse Watters, who had to apologize two years ago for a segment on the O'Reilly Factor that many deemed to be racist, had a guest on tonight who called @sarahjeong "Crazynese" and then said "something is wrong with the fortune cookies Ling Ling is eating.."

My father has received two letters at home in the last several days due to his anti-Trump LTTE

My dad is in his eighties and has been writing to the papers for years. His most recent letter was brief, basically just asking if Trump supporters are willing to start issuing mea culpas and admitting Donald is incompetent and possibly even a traitor.

Occasionally my parents received negative letters or hang up phone calls in the days following one of his letters, but it's rare.

Now two in three days.

The first letter he received was grade school insults from someone who appears to have trouble writing in general.

The second was a three page typed letter with a bunch of boring RW bullet points about Obama bad, Trump good, Russia number one, ending with something about shoving this or that up your liberal ass (Righties love going to the ass right away....)

They are angry, folks. And scared. Very scared.

Dad must be doing something right.

11 Dead After Duck Boat Capsizes Near Branson, Mo.

Source: New York Times

At least 11 people were killed Thursday night when a tourist boat capsized in a southern Missouri lake as powerful thunderstorms passed through the Midwest, the authorities said.

The amphibious boat, or duck boat, overturned in Table Rock Lake near Branson, Mo., around 7 p.m. as winds exceeded 60 m.p.h.

Sheriff Doug Rader of Stone County said the duck boat sank to the bottom of the lake, and that seven passengers were taken to a hospital. Two people were in critical condition at Cox Medical Center Branson late Thursday, the hospital said.

Some of the dead were children, the sheriff said late Thursday night, and about five passengers were still missing. “We had several people who made it out safely,” he added.

Today's take on JPR? "What did Russia do wrong?" and "Obama was overrated".

Just your daily reminder, these are not allies.

California Democratic Party Snubs Feinstein and Endorses Kevin De Leon

Source: New York Times

LOS ANGELES -- Six weeks after winning an overwhelming victory among California primary voters, Senator Dianne Feinstein suffered an embarrassing setback Saturday night as the state Democratic Party officially endorsed her rival for election this November.

Kevin de Len, the Democratic leader in California's State Senate, won the support of the party leadership despite an effort by Ms. Feinstein to convince the party not to offer an endorsement.

The vote for Mr. de Len reflected the rise of younger liberal activists in the California Democratic leadership, some of whom regard Ms. Feinstein as a moderate compared with the intensely progressive voices who are coming up through the party ranks. These activists tend to be younger and more left-leaning than the state party at large.

Mr. de Len, 51, remains a long-shot candidate in his two-way race against the 85-year-old Ms. Feinstein in November; the two Democrats are facing each other, with no Republican in the mix, after they prevailed in the state's so-called "top two" open primary last month. Still, the vote for Mr. de Leon was a reminder of Ms. Feinstein's tepid support among liberal Democrats as the party debates how to take on President Trump in the fall midterm elections.

Bad move by California Dems in my view, regardless of looking "to the future". You have the answer of who the people wanted.....
