DU pro-Sanders?? (also posted on GDP)

"After nearly a year on the campaign trail, the list of sites with a pro-Sanders slant has grown quite long with Salon, The Nation, Huffington Post, Raw Story, AlterNet, US Uncut, Democratic Underground, and Daily Kos remaining the most viable progressive sites to have gone full-in on Sanders' campaign"

This is a quote from http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511823129

I'm surprised that DU is labeled pro-Sanders. I recognize that the Sanders folks have been much more vocal, but I don't see that as a DU decision. It's a style thing that differentiates Sanders supporters from Hillary supporters. This is just a vote from me to recommend DU as a place where Democrats can either find support among fellow believers or duke it out with the opposition. I think it's great place.

I've recently joined Discussionist and Reddit to try to make Hillary's presence more noticeable and they don't hold a candle to DU. They're chaotic!! (And the font is too tiny!)

Is this complaint valid?

I get why Correct the Record wants to mount a digital offensive against the Bernie Bros who have driven Hillary supporters away from the public parts of social media. And I heartily endorse it. I, myself, have been posting in GDP and have now joined Reddit and Discussionist to post Hillary positive messages.

But in the article below the author claims that CRT is using legal but questionable methods to coordinate with the Clinton campaign. My questions is, is this true? Because I don't see why they would need to coordinate in order to accomplish the goal.

Due to FEC loopholes, the Sunlight Foundation’s Libby Watson found this year that Correct the Record can openly coordinate with Clinton’s campaign, despite rules that typically disallow political campaigns from working directly with PACs.

“SuperPACs aren’t supposed to coordinate with candidates. The whole reasoning behind (Supreme Court decision) Citizens United rests on (PACs) being independent, but Correct the Record claims it can coordinate,” Watson told The Daily Beast. “It’s not totally clear what their reasoning is, but it seems to be that material posted on the Internet for free—like, blogs—doesn’t count as an ‘independent expenditure.’”

Why would CTR have to coordinate with the Clinton campaign? (also in GDP)

Can anyone explain why Correct the Record would have to coordinate with the Clinton campaign in order to do what they propose to do? I don't get it. This is apparently in connection with their plan to push back against Bernie Bros on line.

Remember when?

Something is changing. Remember when Sanders first hit the stage and we had a good feeling about a civil, substantive debate that would move the party forward? I hope he figures out a way to go out with style... leave us on a similar up note.

A noticeably subdued Bernie Sanders rallies a Lancaster County university crowd

Compared to his electrifying podium performance earlier in the week at Pennsylvania's marquee university, Penn State, Sen. Bernie Sanders on Friday struck a noticeably more subdued tone as he addressed a crowd of about 2,800 at Millersville University in Lancaster County. The majority of the people in the crowd were students.

Sanders, who typically fires up raucous crowds with his raspy but thunderous voice, spoke in a far more measured tone Friday, although he generated from the crowd the same frenzied applause and cheers that have followed him on the campaign trail in recent months.

The mystery of Clinton/Sanders online

...although this article points out that it goes beyond online. I joined Reddit with the purpose of increasing the Hillary presence. It's chaos (a half dozen mostly defunct Hillary sub-reddits, but her presence in "Politics" is less than in GDP. Interestingly, none of her sub-redits showed up in the introductory list. One Bernie did. I had to search. I'm going to post once every few days in "Politics," but not bother to get involved with the Hillary groups.

Hillary Clinton won big in New York on Tuesday, taking a 16-point lead statewide over opponent Bernie Sanders and receiving 63 percent of votes in New York City alone—but walking around the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn ahead of the primary, you wouldn’t think so. Throughout the city, public support for Sanders seems to far outweigh that for Clinton, with his campaign posters filling the windows of bars, cafes, and apartments—without a Clinton sign in sight. Lest this disparity be attributed to allegations of voter suppression, the phenomenon goes far beyond New York: Online, #feelthebern hashtags appear to drown out Clinton’s #ImWithHer rallying cry, and a larger number of vocal celebrities can be seen showing their support at Sanders rallies and online. With so many voters evidently backing Clinton on paper and in the polls, why is real-life public support for her is so muted?

It may not be for everyone....

... but I read earlier today that part of Correct the Record's project to push back at negative Hillary posts on line is to make environments safer for Hillary supporters to feel that they can post their opinions. I have no idea how they can actually REDUCE the negativity, as contrasted to pushing back, but if they can, then maybe some of our Hillary Group members could venture out and try again in the public space.

I looked and looked, but I can't find the article that had that particular bit of info.

Hoping to read more stories like this!

But with Clinton's big win in New York this week, and with primaries in Connecticut and five other states where Clinton appears strong this coming Tuesday, the direction is inevitable.

We're going to see more Sanders backers, and especially more fence-sitters, gain new comfort with an old political hand who doesn't vibrate the walls with anger and comes with baggage that makes some liberals cringe. What she does bring, as she moves away from Sanders as an opponent, toward, presumably, Donald Trump, is a clearer road map on issues such as the one she highlighted Thursday, gun violence.

And in person, as it turns out, her thoughtful, measured approach comes off with more passion than what we see on TV sound bites.
