Bernie drops the mic on Larry Wilmore

He went after those disgusting pricks Cruz and Drumpf about New York values.

Democratic Underground should be focused on supporting both of our great candidates.

Obama Has Granted More Commutations Than the Past 6 Presidents Combined

President Barack Obama commuted the sentences of 61 drug offenders on Wednesday, as part of his push to ramp up clemencies and reform sentencing laws. That brings his total commutations to 248 since taking office, more than the past six presidents combined.

More than a third of the 61 inmates were serving life sentences on charges related to possession and distribution of drugs including cocaine, methamphetamines, and marijuana. Unlike recent rounds of commutations, however, none of them were serving life sentences for marijuana-only crimes. As Mother Jones has reported in the past, scores of so-called pot lifers remain behind bars.

Tennessee Lawmakers Just Passed a Bill That Would Allow Therapists to Refuse to Treat Gay Clients

Source: New York Magazine

Tennessee's House of Representatives just passed a bill that would allow therapists who believe homosexuality is the mark of Satan to refuse to treat gay clients. More precisely, the bill allows mental-health counselors to deny treatment to anyone who seeks help with "goals, outcomes, or behaviors that conflict with the sincerely held principles of the counselors or therapist." If the bill makes it into law, Tennessee would be the first state to allow therapists to pick what kind of clients they're willing to serve.

Gee, I wonder if a republican president, House and Senate would make this even worse.

Wait a minute, I thought Hillary Clinton and Ted Cruz were the same?

I have been told repeatedly they are in an indirect way, right?

He opposes abortion even in cases of rape and incest

And he would eliminate the payroll taxes that fund popular programs like Social Security and Medicare.

“Cruz would be a disaster with Latinos and nonwhite voters — though he does not say insulting things about women — but his views on choice, gay rights, economic issues are very far right,” said Alan Abramowitz, a political scientist at Emory College.

Weird, so if Bernie loses, not voting for Hillary would be fucking insane, got it.

A statement from Bruce Springsteen on North Carolina

Source: Springsteen website

As you, my fans, know I’m scheduled to play in Greensboro, North Carolina this Sunday. As we also know, North Carolina has just passed HB2, which the media are referring to as the “bathroom” law. HB2 — known officially as the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act — dictates which bathrooms transgender people are permitted to use. Just as important, the law also attacks the rights of LGBT citizens to sue when their human rights are violated in the workplace. No other group of North Carolinians faces such a burden. To my mind, it’s an attempt by people who cannot stand the progress our country has made in recognizing the human rights of all of our citizens to overturn that progress. Right now, there are many groups, businesses, and individuals in North Carolina working to oppose and overcome these negative developments. Taking all of this into account, I feel that this is a time for me and the band to show solidarity for those freedom fighters. As a result, and with deepest apologies to our dedicated fans in Greensboro, we have canceled our show scheduled for Sunday, April 10th. Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.

So you say you want a revolution? Alright.

Me too.

So exactly how did you want to go about that?

Will it be easier to do with a Democrat in the White House or a right wing republican?

Only two ways for it to work without Bernie, you elect Hillary and push her to the left, or you elect a republican who will blow up the society, government, absolutely everything and cause tremendous harm and death along the way.

Both ways will ultimately get you there, maybe.

So which one?

Sign up to be a pregnancy checker...New jobs to be offered by US Government.

When the GOP takes over there will be a bunch of new jobs where you will be either a

a. pregnancy checker: your duties revolve around finding women who look pregnant, confront them, demand they provide medical information to see if pregnant, then you tag them and follow them electronically until they give birth

b. trans toilet supervisor: your duties are to stand in front of public restrooms with a little tent, everyone who goes in will have to first step into the tent, show their genitals and provide an original birth certificate to determine sexual state

Clarence Thomas says one person one vote, no good...

The problem with American democracy, according to Justice Clarence Thomas, is that state governments don’t have enough power to manipulate it in order to make some people’s votes count more than others. That’s the theory Thomas laid out Monday in an opinion joined by no other justice.

Go ahead, lecture me some more why more of these type justices are no problem...Because this is what you get with a GOP White House.

Wisconsin Congressman Admits Voter ID Law Will Help GOP Nominee Win In November

Kinda like the election is stolen before it even starts.

In a moment of extraordinary honesty, a GOP congressman from Wisconsin said a new voter ID law will help the eventual Republican presidential nominee win the state in November.

Rep. Glenn Grothman’s prediction, made in response to questions about Tuesday’s primaries in the state, gave credence to critics of voter ID laws who say they are tools used by conservatives to disenfranchise the poor and minorities, many of whom vote for Democrats.

Grothman told WTMJ-4’s Charles Benson that despite past GOP candidates’ poor showings in the Badger State, this year will be different. “Now we have photo ID, and I think photo ID is gonna make a little bit of a difference as well,” he said.

P.S. By all means, continue to argue about whether or not you will vote in November.
