The Polack MSgt
The Polack MSgt's JournalAnyone who was in the military has heard
this countdown phrase "x number of days and a wake up".
Usually you start counting when you get orders to relocate. Maybe your return from deployment date gets announced or you get a new assignment or complete training - whatever
Once you know the date you start the count... 28 and a wake up, 27 and a wake up etc. etc.
Well folks all that's left now is the wake up.
If Democrats GOTV, the Republicans must GTFO.
Today is a sad day for my wife and I
Today is the 49th day since my mother in law passed.
This is traditionally the day when Buddhists gather and pray to say farewell.
My wife and I would appreciate your good wishes today.
The Buddhist prayer is "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo" if you would like to say goodbye in the faith mom practiced, chant that phrase 3 times.
Of course you don't have to do that if your faith precludes it.
Thank you
Congrats
The Cubs close out the dream season
Damn - I'm a cards fan, it's going to be a hard few seasons
If you saw me next to the average Trump follower you couldn't tell me from him...
I'm a white man in my 50s. The doctor wants me to lose 25 pounds & I'm so bald that shaving the remnants takes me no time at all.
I am a retired USAF SNCO married for 30 years, with adult children.
I should be a proud content man looking towards retirement, but I'm not.
My mind is bleak and my heart weeps for the future of this country.
Those are all statements that could lead you to believe that I back Trump and keep a MAGA hat in my truck. After all that's the settled narrative in this election, but in my case it means the exact opposite.
I am continuously sickened by the infantile attitudes, willful ignorance and galling sense of entitlement of people who look just like I do.
Make no mistake, I'm talking about white folks who believe themselves to be the best Americans, the driving force and arbiters of the culture of the USA.
They are weak minded, soft spine cowards afraid of any system that is not rigged in their favor. Angry toddlers looking to take out their frustrations on anyone they perceive as weak.
As much as I hate the GOP and Trump himself, we owe them our thanks for finally holding up a mirror so that we can all see the faces they usually keep hidden
Well I am glad that the Iowa cop killer is off the streets
A few things bother me though.
First of all, is it just me or did the press and social media get quiet once his photo was released? Was that my imagination?
Here is an unsurprising but infuriating fact about the "all lives matter" racist fuckwits - THEY ARE SILENT TODAY.
Second - Killing cops while white doesn't get you killed, but being suspected of stealing a pack of Black and Mild cigars will get you killed graveyard dead if you're a black teenager in Missouri
Fuck this... Sorry to vent
peace
hey, you like the rock and roll?
CUbs vs Indians
Should be fun.
Cubs look strong but the Indians have manufactured wins with whoever Francona pencils in the lineup all year.
I have to get this off my chest tho
It hasn't been 108 years since Chicago won a championship - It's been 3
It has not been 108 years since Chicago won the World Series - It's been 11.
One of the city's 5 pro teams has been a dysfunctional franchise for generations while the rest have won - And I'm obligated to feel some kind of affection?
Nonsense- Go Indians
I just want to vent
No baseball on a Friday night...
WT actual F? fire the MLB Media coordinator
To quote Charlie Brown "AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHH"
Phil Chess has passed
Without the Chess Brothers, music as we know it would simply not be.
Chess Records chronicled the Chicago Blues scene. Found and recorded artists that laid the foundation for so much that followed.
Without him there are no Rolling Stones or Aerosmith. No Yardbirds Cream Led Zep Fleetwood Mac.
And those were all second generation. Wrap your mind around this - No Muddy. No Buddy. No BB.
The music world lost a giant, a giant that never played or sang a song
