In 2008, Clinton nominated Obama by acclamation. Will Bernie be gracious in defeat as well

and call for unity for the sake of the Democratic Party?

If Sanders campaigns in Rome to Americans aboard, is that considered a campaign activity?

I'm wondering who is paying for the Hail Mary pass.

OK it seems that Bernie will be taking a charter to the Vatican

The trip has also caused a small stir among pundits ahead of the April 19 New York primary, as Sanders will be forced to take a break from campaigning for a few days to fly to Rome and back. The campaign will board a charter immediately after a highly-anticipated Democratic debate in New York that Sanders had been pressuring Clinton to accept on April 14.

Is this an official campaign event?

So Jeffrey Sachs, an adviser to Sanders' campaign, scored him an invitation to an obscure Vatican

conference that he (Sachs) was attending.

New Yorkers won't be impressed AT ALL.

I'm taking bets on whether Bernie will meet with the Pope.

A real sit-down one-on-one meeting with substantive exchange of views, not a hi-bye meeting.

Any takers?

If I had to guess I'd say Bernie is going to cancel on the Pope because Bernie's double-booked ...

that would be awfully rude, after accepting the invitation...

You can't do Rome in less than a week. Anything less than that is a crime and an insult.

Day 1: Symposium, plenary sessions.
Day 2: personal tour of St Peter's Basilica, Sistine Chapel, Vatican Archives, and Vatican Bank by His Holiness
Day 3 - 5: Colosseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, churches, museums, gallaries
