...he takes an oath to protect and defend our Constitution and to make sure all laws are faithfully executed.
Arguably, it is the most awesome responsibility in the world.
Those that would fail that responsibility, and break the laws of our Constitution, should be severely punished.
If they fail in their duty to protect our Constitution, they should never be rewarded or honored in their failure.
They should receive no pardons or recusals if they break the law.
They should receive the maximum penalty under law if they dishonor the American people by committing crimes against our nation.
They are not special if they criminalize the White House. They should be punished more harshly than an average citizen that might commit the same crime.
Republicans be like...
"Hmmmm....looks like dogshit?"
"Smells like dogshit?"
"Tastes like dogshit!"
"And those damn Democrats stepped in it!"
Why is Trump so obsessed about the "classification" of the documents?
He wants the world to know that he "de-classified" them as soon as they left the Oval Office. Kash Patel is willing to back him up on that claim and say that he heard him "declassify" them.

So why the obsession?
In my opinion, there are classified documents out there that could be very damaging to Trump in their "classified" form and he knows it. Trying to stay ahead of the narrative, he would like for folks to know that he "de-classified" it.
Those documents may be in the last batch of boxes that the FBI seized from his Maralago basement?
If you thought the first 15 boxes were damaging, wait until you hear what was in the boxes he did not want to turn over.
Kim Jong Un?
What interest did Trump really have in North Korea?
Did he try to make a deal with the Korean dictator? Did he offer to help him with his nuclear program?
After all, he got love letters from the dictator.
But, with the breaking of this story about the stolen documents, it tends to make one look at the relationship between Trump and Kim Jong Un in a different light.
Was he stealing documents way back then?
Will Merrick Garland wait until the Jan 6th investigation is completed before making any indictments
Then, he will announce them all at once?
It could be like a laundry list of charges against various individuals.
Whether or not he adds espionage to the charges will be determined by whether or not classified documents are missing or there is evidence that some documents went to a third party or country?
The obstruction charges are very strong in both the stolen documents and the attack on our Capitol cases.
There could also be a credible charge of seditious conspiracy, in my opinion.
There could be several confederates involved in this conspiracy.
But, I do not believe AG Garland will indict on any of these charges until both of these investigations are complete.
Veiled threats to the DOJ
I have to believe the threats are coming straight from Donald Trump. He began his day yesterday by making a statement that the FBI should "revolt".
Then the pattern took form. Perhaps it was just the Republican "talking point" of the day? In any event, Karl Rove was saying that a prosecution of Trump would "tear the country apart".
Then the usual suspects, like Josh Hawley and Lindsey Graham, were saying that there would be "riots" in the streets if there was an indictment or an arrest of Donald Trump.
There is such a thing as free speech, but it sounded real close to obstruction to my untrained ear.
If the talking point indeed did come from the former president, it shows the degree of desperation in his camp. The evidence is stacked against him. All he has left is to try and delay and to play his games with our justice system, which he is very good at doing.
Cooler heads need to reassure the people that violence and "riots" are not acceptable forms of protest and that the laws should be applied equally and fairly without regard to Party or position. If folks break the law, they will be held accountable.
It does little good when Republican Senators begin talking about "riots" if a certain former president is found to have broken the laws of our country and put our nation at risk. I suspect they got their marching orders from their "boss" and Leader?
Merrick Garland is torturing Republicans with his drip, drip, drip, drip of possible prosecutions...
It is the perfect strategy.
The Chinese torture of criminal investigations. Keep putting out the indictable evidence and watch them sweat.
It is working perfectly. It has finally reached the point where they are no longer claiming innocence, but rather resorting to threats of violence and riots. Law and order pariahs, who fancy themselves above the law.
Maybe they will find some sort of "master" to save them from the oncoming reckoning. But it is only a temporary stay and the delay is only more torture for themselves.
Drip, drip, drip...
It's about time to start up the January 6th hearings again.
Trump's message to the Republican caucus:
Put out the word that if Trump is indicted or arrested, there will be riots in the street. We need to stop this nonsense before they put my big fat ass in the slammer. You really need to get these people off my back. I'm asking for your help. Scare the hell out of them.
Was that the message of the day to the Republican Party?
Instead of threats, Republicans should offer some solutions.

Those types of comments are of no value at this time.
Instead of standing up for the law, and saying that if the evidence shows that serious crimes have been committed, then the perpetrator should be held accountable, they threaten violence if there is any accountability, regardless of guilt or innocence.
They are a big part of the problem. They accept no responsibility. Rather than stand up for our democracy and the rule of law, they stand for mob violence.
When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.
Why was Steve Bannon's lawyer at Maralago when the FBI was there?
Was it just a coincidence?
Evan Corcoran was last spotted outside a courthouse where Bannon was being charged. He was one of Bannon's lawyers.
Then, we find out that he was in Maralago and had written the statement that Christina Bobb had signed stating that there were no more classified documents at the residence.
I had not seen any evidence that he was working as a lawyer for Donald Trump?
Did Bannon know what was going on with the stolen documents? Did he send his attorney down to Maralago to assist?
Wouldn't he be in some legal trouble for lying to the FBI in such a serious matter?
