It was their Citizens United decision that opened the floodgates for illicit contributions into our political system. It was that decision that has led to all these foreign contributions we are now witnessing.
The Citizens United decision allowed corruption to thrive in our political system.
The law needs to be repealed if we are ever going to repair our election system.
The Court said that money was "free speech" when they made their decision.
We now see that it was much, much more than just "free speech".

Rudy Giuliani had "no comment" when asked about his two business associates this morning. They were arrested as they were preparing to leave the country.
Reportedly, they were assisting him in making contacts in Ukraine to find dirt on the Bidens and to find evidence that the Russians were not the ones that interfered in our 2016 election. They say it originated in Ukraine and was the work of Hillary Clinton and the DNC. Also, from other reports, Giuliani was making deals to curry favors with the large gas company in Ukraine, Naftogaz. Several top Ukrainian businessmen were hit with sanctions when they were applied to Russia.
Rudy and his two pals were attempting to change the leadership of the gas company.
Obviously, Rudy is up to his eyeballs in the active corruption in Ukraine. We do not yet know what role Donald Trump had in the scheme to manipulate Naftogaz into changing their leadership? Or why?
We have read reports that Shokin was closely allied with Russia and was investigating the founder of Burisma. Shokin had claimed that Hunter Biden was appointed to Burisma's board in order to protect the founder of Burisma. There are many loose ends to this story, it appears?
Rudy knows about the corruption in Ukraine because he is a part of it.
Nancy Pelosi is doing her best to give McConnell and the Republicans time to make a decision...
Mr Trump does not make it easy for them.
Their most immediate concern is not knowing what their president will do next? The unilateral "whim" that he undertook with the advice or knowledge of no one, to surrender Syria to the Turks and the Russians.
If Russia takes Ukraine, which they probably will under this commander-in-chief, then we may be seeing a new Soviet Union emerge?
Also, they are concerned with the time they may have to pick another candidate, if Mr Trump is removed or resigns from office? They need to make their decision soon.
Many of them, perhaps most, will choose to go down with the ship. They see no other option but to stick with Trump.
It appears that Trump has finally broken and divided the last vestige of a great American institution - the Republican Party.
"What have you got to lose?"
Trump asked that question of African-Americans in his last election.
It turns out that America had everything to lose.
The grass is not always greener. A businessman does not always know how best to run a government.
Republicans invested everything in the criminal charlatan now occupying the White House.
I think it is now safe to say that Hillary Clinton would have been a 1000% better as a president. But, even now, the cult of Trump would never admit it.
No doubt, she would have been more competent, more stable, more moral, more compassionate, more patriotic, more presidential, and far more intelligent than Donald J Trump.
Supporters of Mr Trump were willing to gamble with the survival of our country. They bought into the showman. They knew who he was, yet they voted for him. Even today, they would say, "at least he isn't Hillary".
We hold no hopes that they will ever escape from their cage of denial. They are prisoners of their own doing.
Strategically, when would be the best time to file Articles of Impeachment?
Because it is political, it would be for political effect.
Would it be before Thanksgiving? Or New Years? Or somewhere in between? Or some time after New Years?
I'm sure given those extra days, President Tweet will find another way to obstruct justice. Because that is what he does. He has that small criminal gene in his DNA.
Personally, I think they should file Articles of Impeachment just after New Years break. In my opinion, they should give the nation the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to think about it. Hopefully, people will see that it has to be done.
Either way, it has to be done.
The Constitution of which you speak, is illegitimate.
The Congress does not have a right to investigate a President if he has done nothing wrong. That would mean it would be an illegitimate impeachment. That means "executive privilege" permits the president to ignore all subpoenas and requests from an illegitimate Congress with their unconstitutional requests.
Is this what Trump and his lawyers are arguing??
Donald Trump is a Russian agent?
His every pronouncement and action is for Russia and its leader.
It is hard to think of anything that he has done that was not done for Russia's benefit.
From his attacks on NATO to his withdrawal from Syria, it was for Russia. From his attacks on our intelligence agencies to his unprecedented divisive tactics on our system of government, it is for Russia.
His attacks upon the German, British, and French leaders helped Russia.
The "deals" he was looking to make in Ukraine was to help Russia take control of the Ukraine. His delay in releasing funds until he could get certain promises from the new Ukraine leader was to help Russia consolidate its positions.
What does Russia have on him? What is he trying to hide?
He's certainly polishing the knob of Vladimir Putin...
Did Trump's deal with the Turkish president have anything to do with the Trump Towers in Istanbul ?
Did he make a deal to protect his two towers in Istanbul, Turkey?
Nobody knows.
As Trump would say, "That is a disgrace!"
Everyday, our nation is at risk with Donald Trump as president. Our national security is at stake.
It shouldn't be a hard call at all?
But for some reason, many Republicans have lost their spine and their ability to think and reason?
It is a disgrace.
How many impeachment charges would you file against Donald Trump?
In my opinion, each of the recent obstruction of justice charges should be adjudicated in a Senate trial.
In order for that to happen, he will have to be impeached in the whole House and Articles of Impeachment presented to the Senate.
Also, the ten obstruction charges that was discovered by Robert Mueller should be included in a Senate trial also, in my opinion.
Throw it in their laps! They created the problem....let them fix it?
Or should the Democrats let the charges work their way thru the Courts? How long could that take?
Do the Courts see a threat to our democracy? Do they see a threat to our national security? Do they see abuse of power? Do they see obstruction of justice? Do they see extortion? Do they see treason?
How soon should the House impeach?
Are we now in a constitutional crisis?
"Operator...could we get the Supreme Court, please?"
Is that the direction we are headed?
Corruption is not that rare in Washington, DC. It has always been so. But, what is different now?
We have had corrupt Presidents and corrupt Congressmen before. But, have we had so many from one Party so willing to jump into the corruption, and cover up for the lies, and create stories for their masters - so they will be pleased??
The Supreme Court may make the final determination in this case? People are now praying for Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Republicans, Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump, have been successful at stacking the courts, even the Supreme Court.
This Supreme Court could end up being one of the most significant we have seen in many decades?
The times may have found them?
