Are we now in a constitutional crisis?

Last edited Wed Oct 9, 2019, 08:50 AM - Edit history (1)

"Operator...could we get the Supreme Court, please?"

Is that the direction we are headed?

Corruption is not that rare in Washington, DC. It has always been so. But, what is different now?

We have had corrupt Presidents and corrupt Congressmen before. But, have we had so many from one Party so willing to jump into the corruption, and cover up for the lies, and create stories for their masters - so they will be pleased??

The Supreme Court may make the final determination in this case? People are now praying for Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Republicans, Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump, have been successful at stacking the courts, even the Supreme Court.

This Supreme Court could end up being one of the most significant we have seen in many decades?

The times may have found them?

And us?

That would obviously give every president a minimum of 4 years of monarchical rule. LastDemocratInSC Oct 2019 #5

I have predicted a constitutional crisis arising where Trump does something as President that the USSC regards as a "political question," that is, off limits to judicial review.

Not exactly what Ben Franklin and his friends had in mind. It would effectively reverse much of the American Revolution.

If the judicial and legislative branch are ignored by the executive branch we will be. So far it is primarily the legislative branch being dismissed. They will petition the courts.

I think the courts are going to move faster than the administration thinks but it’s still going to slow the process.

One positive in my mind. The Democrats will be overwhelmingly successful using the courts. By the Republicans forcing us to do this the most damning evidence will be coming out over a period of time and the administration is going to be seen as clearly fighting the release of the info.

We will end up with a traitor running the country for longer than acceptable but the administration has set the whole Republican Party up for one of the greatest political nightmares in history.

That’s my opinion.

A lot of judges have been appointed by McConnell and Trump.

I will even go as far as to say that the last thing the Repugs want is these demands going to the SC. The courts are about to hand the Republicans their asses. Not because they are on our side. They will have few other options and what the administration is going to be asking the courts to do goes against every single conservative value.
