sorrybushisfromtexas's JournalToday is the first day of the rest of my life
I live in the reddest Congressional district in the red state of Texas. Would you believe my wonderful congressman is Ronny Jackson, Trumps old doctor. I am 74 and always had a goal of seeing Texas turn Blue. A week ago I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. My brother died 6 years ago from the terrible disease. The average life span after diagnosis is two to three years. I am really going to be pissed if Texas is still red when it is my time to go. I would appreciate some good thoughts, prayers if you are religious, and some good juju that I beat the average life span for an IPF patient. It was caught early and I really dont have any outward symptoms so dammit I am going to last until we do turn Blue. Starting medicine next week that is really hard on you but does slow it down. Go Biden!
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Do any members have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or have any family members with it? I was just diagnosed with it because of incidental CT scan. I am not having problems with oxygen levels yet. My brother died because it about 5 years ago and it is genetic related in about 30% of cases. The average life span after diagnosis is 3-5 years. My brother lived 3 years. It is an ugly disease that robs you of keeping your oxygen level at a level that allows you to do anything. I think mine is an early case that will allow me to live longer than the usual case.
Question about the murder of the Capital Hill policeman
In Texas if you are part of of a criminal incident you can be tried for murder even if you were not involved in the murder itself. Since everyone inside the Capital was part of a criminal incident, could they be all charged for murder?
In the 1970s I had a acquaintance show up at a murder scene hours after the man was killed and put some stolen goods in his trunk to sell. He was given 20 years for 2nd degree murder. He was a good guy that got mixed up with drugs and started fencing stolen goods. Is there a federal law that could be used that way?
paranoid and pissed off
I am sitting here on Sunday on day 11 of my Covid experience. I had the highest temperature that I have had this morning. My blood oxygen is down to the lowest it has been, still in the 90s but going down each day. I fully expect to be hospitalized today or tommorow if our hospital has any rooms left. We are in the biggest surge of Covid we have had in my small city of Wichita Falls, Texas. Pissed off that my wife and I who has it too, were super careful. We Havent been to a restaurant since March, and have only been back to Church twice since our church requires.you to be masked coming in but allows you to take them off once you get inside as Most people do. Pissed off that we have been sick during early voting. Sent for an absentee ballot but who knows when we will get it. I dont know if I will have a chance to be able to vote against the orange turd. Pissed off that someone who didnt give a damn gave this shit to my wife and I. I just needed to vent this morning, this stuff sucks big time.
Covid in North Texas
We just set new records three days in a row here in Wichita Falls, Texas. My wife and I have many of the signs of a Covid infections. High Temperature , headaches, body aches, bad neck aches. I am 70 diabetic, obese, high blood pressure, etc. we had a Covid test yesterday and they say 6-10 days before results. The good news is no respiratory issues. We are about 4 days symptomatic. We have worn masks every where we have been, havent seen friends or family but about twice since March, do not go to restaurants, not going to church. If we, have it my question is where the hell did we catch. We have social distanced and worn masks when we have been with friends and family. North Texas is the pits as far as conservatives go but most of them wear masks. The are starting to have concerts with no social distancing. Bars open back up next week.
Demonstrations in Ferguson
Does anyone know of any live streaming showing Ferguson tonight? While the death of the young man is a real tragedy, I have been proud of how so many people nationwide are supporting the family, and it's inhabitants and the outrage of the entire incident.
many in my family also
I lost two nephews, and numerous cousins to our "family" disease. My son suffers from it but not my daughter. I haven't seen signs in my grandkids.
