We shutdown now

As chosen by the House, who decided to end voting for the night, we will now have out first government shutdown in over two decades.

This shutdown plays just like the last - Democratic President, Republican controlled House, and (In part) over health insurance. What was that saying about history? Oh yeah, Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

The ironic part about the shutdown is that even with it, the ACA will still go into effect. A shutdown wouldn't have affected it, but a shutdown would be a raised middle finger. Basically, the shutdown was out of spite.

In the most basic terms I can put it - The baby didn't like it's food, so it decided to throw up over everything.

What does the US have against Chemical Weapons anyway?

Have they seen what goes into food these days? How about cigarette smoke? Car exaust? Smoke stack exaust?

If a dictator wanted to use chemical weapons, he could easily make a new one with the chemicals that make up cigarette smoke, car exhaust, and smoke stack emissions. Oh, and lets not forget topping the tank off with a wide plethora of preservatives... to keep the toxic brew nice and fresh.

No country could say a fucking thing about it either - The weapon is made up of nothing more then what they allow their own civilians to be exposed to, daily, for their entire lives.

Pepper Spray...

You know something really ironic about the chemical weapons situiation in Syria?

Pepper Spray - Used both by civilians and police forces around the globe (Including the US) - is a chemical weapon. In fact, the CWC specifies it as such and also prohibits it's use in war.

Funny isn't it? That for all our talk about how Assad is evil for using chemical weapons against civilians, we routinely use them against our own civilians.

We have people dying...

For lack of healthcare, we have people starving for lack of food, we have people living on the streets for lack of a house...

Yet we are preparing to spend billions on attacking Syria for humanitarian reasons?
