And the GOP wonders why they are out of touch: McCain compares Iranian leader to monkey

Always one to speak -- or Tweet -- his mind, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Monday made a joke comparing Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a monkey, something one Republican congressman charged was “racist.”

“So Ahmadinejad wants to be first Iranian in space - wasn't he just there last week?” McCain said in a tweet that also linked to a story about Iran launching a monkey into space.

Some didn’t take so kindly to the not-so-diplomatic quip, prompting McCain, 76, to respond: “Re: Iran space tweet - lighten up folks, can't everyone take a joke?”

Seeing that, Michigan congressman Rep. Justin Amash, 32, shot back.

“Maybe you should wisen up & not make racist jokes,” Amash tweeted.

Mitt's son has reportedly been approached by Republican officials about running to fill Kerry's seat

Mitt's son has reportedly been approached by Republican officials about the possibility of running in an April special election to fill John Kerry's seat.

Have a connection to the commonwealth of Massachusetts? Interested in politics? How does a run for John Kerry's vacated Senate seat sound?

These have become familiar questions in Boston political circles, where names ranging from Sen. Ted Kennedy's widow Vicki Kennedy to former Democratic Mass. Gov. Michael Dukakis were mentioned as possible fillers for the interim seat, as well as former Republican Mass. Sen. Scott Brown and actor Ben Affleck for the permanent position.

Now, with Democrat Mo Cowan appointed as interim senator and Brown removing his name from contention, there's another high profile name who may throw his hat into the ring: Tagg Romney.

The Boston Herald reports that Romney, 42, whose father Mitt recently lost his bid to supplant Barack Obama as president of the United States, is considering a run for the vacated seat in an April 30 special election.

Dolphin Tangled in Fishing Line Approaches Divers for Help

A group of divers were surprised to see a single Bottlenose dolphin approach and linger among them, though it appeared unable to swim normally.

Only after the dolphin continued to circle near around him so insistently did diving instructor Keller Laros begin to realize the animal wasn't merely being curious -- it was actually asking them for help. The dolphin's movements were restricted because it had become entangled in fishing line and a hook was lodged in its pectoral fin.

Incredibly, the wild dolphin then appears to readily comply with Laros's efforts to help, positioning its body to make his work easier, seeming to give full trust in the terrestrial stranger.

Thankfully, Laros was able to remove the line and hook from the dolphin, very likely saving the animal's life.

Will this quote stand the test of time?

"My fellow Americans, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it - so long as we seize it together. For we, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it."

PRESIDENT OBAMA

Will it be one of those famous quotes we hear in sound bites from this point forward?

I see the gun nuts have really crawled out of the gun nut forum today

and are in full swing along with NRA trolls defending the NRA and their tactics.

We cannot have a civil debate on guns in this country because the gun owners are fanatical.

Two words: "well regulated" are the answer to the whole thing.

The 2nd Amendment says well regulated. If these creeps are so about Constitutionality, then they should be all for regulating the weapons.

Problem solved, now all we have to is get the gun crazies to shut the f#$% up long enough to see the error of their ways.

Not Mans Best Friend? Dog runs over owner...

Florida man run over, killed after dog pushes vehicle's accelerator

A Florida man has died after a dog jumped into a van and pushed the accelerator, causing the vehicle to strike the man as he opened a gate outside of his home, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that 68-year-old James Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The strange incident began as Campbell and Iris Fortner, 68, returned to their home in Cantonment, Fla., on the Florida Panhandle on Monday.

According to an FHP report, while Fortner, who was driving, backed a 1995 Chevy van into their property, Campbell got out of the passenger's side of the vehicle to open a metal gate outside their home.

As Fortner opened the driver's side door to see where Campbell was standing, her large boxer came running toward the van and jumped in, pressing the accelerator, the report said.

Overqualified person applys to a Wall Street job...

Guy applies for Wall Street job, says he has 'no special skills'

Subject: Summer Internship

Dear BLOCKED

My name is (BLOCKED) and I am an undergraduate finance student at (BLOCKED). I met you the summer before last at Smith & Wollensky’s in New York when I was touring the east coast with my uncle, (BLOCKED). I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to talk with me that night.

I am writing to inquire about a possible summer internship in your office. I am aware it is highly unusual for undergraduates from average universities like (BLOCKED) to intern at (BLOCKED), but nevertheless I was hoping you might make an exception. I am extremely interested in investment banking and would love nothing more than to learn under your tutelage. I have no qualms about fetching coffee, shining shoes or picking up laundry, and will work for next to nothing. In all honesty, I just want to be around professionals in the industry and gain as much knowledge as I can.

I won’t waste your time inflating my credentials, throwing around exaggerated job titles, or feeding you a line of crapp about how my past experiences and skill set align perfectly for an investment banking internship. The truth is I have no unbelievably special skills or genius eccentricities, but I do have a near perfect GPA and will work hard for you. I’ve interned for Merrill Lynch in the Wealth Management Division and taken an investment banking class at (BLOCKED), for whatever that is worth.

I am currently awaiting admission results for (BLOCKED) Masters of Science in Accountancy program, which I would begin this fall if admitted. I am also planning on attending law school after my master’s program, which we spoke about in New York. I apologize for the blunt nature of my letter, but I hope you seriously consider taking me under your wing this summer. I have attached my resume for your review. Feel free to call me at (BLOCKED) or email at (BLOCKED). Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

BLOCKED
