(1,511 posts)I think she was trying to say to tone it down, but it is like watching someone get attacked for months, and then when they respond back say "hey you guys cool it down". The tone has been toxic here for a while, the HRC group has been painfully spiteful. I think asking us to tone down because of how heated it has gotten is something to be said, but calling out the people being attacked does seem in bad taste. I think the wording was poor that's all.

(23,018 posts)And she should delete the OP.
If she wanted to address Bernie supporters she should have done it here.

(4,775 posts)Autumn's post was probably well-intended, but I found it bizarre and poorly thought out.
Also it would have been far more appropriate for her to bring it to the Bernie group for prior review, instead of making a public appeal to Skinner on her own.
Her status as the Bernie group mod gave that post extra oomph without having the approval of the members here, not appreciated, though I do generally appreciate Autumn and her work for Bernie.

(4,879 posts)The title alone was enough to make me cringe.
In spite of the propaganda that Skinner has allowed here, it is not Bernie supporters who are toxic and need to tone it down.

(10,547 posts)I think she was trying to tell Bernie supporters that
1. she has NOT given up on Bernie she made clear she's still working for him but considers arguing with Hillaryites here to be at best a waste of time and perhaps also likely to get Bernie-ites kicked off.
2. Bernie-ites also risk making themselves subject to getting kicked off based on arguments like this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511795379 .
I'm not totally sure that's exactly what she meant, but that's the best I could understand it.

(592 posts)that every single mind here has been made up. Every......single.......one.
There are no posts, or multitude of posts that will persuade enough voters to choose Bernie here now.
Your time is better spent phone banking, contributing, door knocking.
Autumn certainly has been doing that.
There is nothing left for us here, except heartburn and possible deadly dyspepsia (I really don't know what that is, but it sounds awful). If you want a place to talk and support Bernie, you should all know where that is now.
I think the vast majority of negative posts about Autumn here are misplaced anger. Don't do it over three fucking words.

(6,123 posts)She said it ""We should quit trying to change Hillary supporters minds and concentrate on getting Bernie elected. Have any of us changed one single Hillary supporters mind here on DU?"
In other words...let it go and do what still needs to be done. We are wasting our time here.

(39,451 posts)Hill supporters because when Skinner said he was going to call it, everyone would need to tone it down.
That's why I suggested moving this to fb. Not ready to tone it down.
