Tim Scott

Just a guess, but, Senator Tim Scott endorsed Trump over the home state girl, Nikki Haley, asked his make pretend girlfriend to marry him, has back pedaled on his views on 1/6, and Trump says his VP will be someone we know. My prediction, Scott will be Trumps VP.

DFW, how was the Cape.

We were there for the week in August with all the Rain. But still, a bad week at the cape beats a good week at work.

Oh my god yes!

The dress code is easer for men, as many things are coat, tie, shirt with collar to hold tie, pants, shoes, socks. Women, suits, dresses, shirts, they should be held to similar standards, I totally agree. And I love the as usual stipulation, Senators can show up looking like shitbumbs, but the staff must still be appropriately attired.

Not a lawyer, or even one of the DU smart people but a thought.

Trump has held 2 fundraisers for the 1/6 insurrectionists and is on and pushing their sing song tape. Under Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, how is this not “giving aid and comfort”. He is clearly raising money for them thus aiding their cause.

(Clip from article, link below) Donald Trump attended a fundraising dinner for January 6th defendants at his Bedminster, N.J., golf club on Tuesday night, ahead of the first Republican presidential debate and his own arrest in Atlanta.

People shouted 'our hero' and 'we love Trump' at him as he walked into the ballroom, according to videos posted on social media.

Article 14 Section 3 of the Constitution?
Another section dealing directly with the aftermath of the Civil War, section 3 of the 14th Amendment prohibits those who had “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same [United States], or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof” from serving in the government.

Officer Jeffery Smith, A hero of 1/6 who took his own life after injuries sustained on 1/6

Officer Smith responded to the Capitol on 1/6 to defend democracy. In the process, he was injured at least twice in the battle at the Capitol. Forced to return to work too soon after the injuries, exhausted and most likely concussed, he took his own life. His widow was finally found eligible for federal benefits for spouses of officers who died in the line of duty.

The widow of a police officer who died by suicide after he was assaulted during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has been found eligible for a federal benefits program for the families of fallen officers. Erin Smith, the widow of Jeffrey Smith, was instrumental in the passage of a renewed version of the Public Safety Officer Support Act that President Joe Biden signed into law last August. The legislation made the families of officers who died by suicide eligible for the federal benefits that go to first responders, so long as their death is found to have been linked to their official duties and exposure to a traumatic event.

18 year old who went to the Capitol on 1/6 sentenced to 1 year

The kid is a dope, but his parents brought him to an assault on the Capitol. The parents should do the time for the idiot child. His father gave him the weapons he used on 1/6, pepper spray and a baton and he was one of the first into the Senate Chamber. He is no Angel but his parents suck! He, like all that tried to eliminate American Democracy deserve longer sentences, but this kids shit bird parents really fucked his life up.

High school student who sat in Pence’s chair during Capitol riot is sentenced to 1 year in prison
July 26, 2023; AP News
A high school student who stormed the U.S. Capitol, assaulted a police officer and sat in a Senate floor chair reserved for the vice president was sentenced on Wednesday to one year in prison. Georgia resident Bruno Joseph Cua was 18 when he attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, making him one of the youngest people charged in the riot. Before learning his sentence, Cua apologized for his actions and told U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss that he is ashamed of his role in a mob’s “attack on democracy.”
