Will it be Liberation Day or Libation Day?

How concerned are you about TSF's impending "liberation" tarrifs?
Is this just another BS spew for attention?
Can anyone in the financial world ever take him seriously again?

Some good news out of Bulgaria

https://bulgarianmilitary.com/2025/03/31/boeing-747-freighters-lead-uss-urgent-push-to-arm-ukraine-fast/
According to a post on X by OSINTtechnical, a widely followed open-source intelligence account, eight Boeing 747 freighters took off from five American military bases—two from McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, three from Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina, one from Ramstein Air Base in Germany, one from MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, and one from Biggs Army Airfield in Texas—delivering critical supplies to support Ukraine’s ongoing war effort against Russia.

This escalation in airlift operations, reported on March 31, 2025, underscores Washington’s continued commitment to Kyiv as the conflict enters a pivotal phase. But beyond the raw numbers lies a deeper story of military coordination, strategic intent, and the sheer capacity of the U.S. to project power across continents in a matter of days.

I'm not so sure about this source, never used it before, but it came up in my Google feed today.

That dumb asshole

He wants to send aid to Myanmar, but he can't because Muskrat has destroyed USAID.
What an idiot.

How can 5 Eyes & NATO trust our intelligence?

After today's fiasco, how can any country trust us with any secure information?

I could easily see these conversations going on around the world right now.

How do other countries feel about us?

I read many newspapers from other countries, because it gives me a different view of the US. Read an op-ed piece today in an Australian newspaper talking about a tourism boycott of the USA. The write-in section was rather painful to read. However, IMO we deserve it. No paywall, and worth your time.

BTW, I was on Sydney last week and in person, the people were very friendly, once they knew I hate TSF as much as they do.

Are there ANY Republicans standing up to Putin?

I'm so damn appalled at the press put out by every GOP senator and congressman. Lindsay Graham, Marco Rubio, etc. The entire Republican party is falling in behind Putin and his puppets in the White House.

Can anyone post a link to a Republican with a backbone on this topic?

Putting a felon in the White House has global consequences

The whole world can see exactly what happens when you put a felon in power. It's not just that his moral compass is off, it's far more than that. You saw it in last night's presser with the Muskrat, and you saw it in TSF's betrayal of Ukraine. It's so damn obvious to anyone - many people have TSF and the entire GOP under blackmail control. THIS is why our country is being destroyed right now. Think about it.

A different look at Switzerland's famous nuetrality

I found this long (and very interesting) article in the Guardian. I think that this URL should get all through the paywall.

‘Here lives the monster’s brain’: the man who exposed Switzerland’s dirty secrets

Inspired by Che Guevara, Jean Ziegler has spent the past 60 years exposing how Switzerland enabled global wrongdoing. His enemies accuse him of treason

But there was another, less obvious reason for my unease with Geneva. It had to do with the rules: who made them, who followed them, and the places and people to whom they didn’t apply. So much of Geneva’s wealth comes from that spectral economy it plays ghostly host to, swaddled in security, neutrality, secrecy laws and tax exemptions.

In 1961, Ziegler responded to a classified ad seeking French speakers to accompany a British civil servant on a mission to what is today the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The country had just become independent, but a coup backed by Belgium (which wanted to keep mining concessions) and the United States (which wanted to squash communism) deposed the elected president, Patrice Lumumba, and installed Mobutu Sese Seko in his stead. Mobutu was your archetypal kleptocrat: a ruthless, fiercely anti-communist megalomaniac hellbent on enriching himself and his cronies while the Congolese people suffered. He nationalised industry but put the country’s resources in the hands of friends and family, leaving ordinary citizens little to show for their country’s vast mineral wealth.
Ziegler was staying in a gated hotel in what is now Kinshasa, ensconced behind high walls snared with barbed wire, where every day hungry local children would gather and beg for leftover food. One day, Ziegler watched as the compound’s guards violently dispersed the children and sent them away bruised and bleeding. It broke his heart to see them treated that way. His voice cracked as he recalled the incident as though it had happened just yesterday.

When Ziegler learned that Mobutu had siphoned off unthinkable sums of money from his country and deposited them in Swiss banks, the political started to feel personal – intensely personal. “I saw children in terrible, terrible conditions there,” he told me. “And knowing that Mobutu, who came to Geneva with this blood money that caused so much death in his country, was enabled by the Swiss oligarchy – that’s what motivated me.”

This is a very long article (part of their Long Read series), but it certainly worth your time. You will come away with a number of different thoughts about neutrality, secrecy and those who take the most advantage of it.

Six Triple Eight on Apple+

I really needed a film with a positive message last night. This was it. The true story of an all black women Army battalion in WW2 that turned a mail delivery mess into a functional working process. Along the way they fight against the racism so present at that time.

Well worth my time.
