Good news for Democrats in polling post Labor Day so far

Insider Advantage +1 D
Morning Consult +2 D
YouGov +6 D

A note about Insider Advantage is internal Republican pollster who had Republicans +7 in early Summer, now down to a +1 lead for Democrats.

Things are not guaranteed but things are looking up for us to hold both chambers.

We should get a complete picture of where the midterms are heading after Labor Day.

the polling has been breaking in our direction since July and August. We should see the polling most likely break in our direction on the last two months of this midterm cycle. As we saw in 2014 the Republicans was ahead in polling at this time and 2018 where Democrats where way ahead around this time.

Red Wave hits breaker - GOP midterm worries rises- The Hill

https://www.yahoo.com/news/red-wave-hits-breaker-gop-133000133.html
Republican worries of a midterm flop are growing heading into the critical post-Labor Day campaign season, with analysts who had previously predicted massive GOP gains shifting their forecasts toward Democrats.

Rick Tyler, a Republican strategist and analyst, said the environment looks “not even close” to a red wave election year.

“The enthusiasm is just not there,” Tyler said. “Last time Republicans had a good year, they were 6 points ahead in the generic poll. Now we’re barely 2 points ahead. So it’s definitely not going to happen.”

RealClearPolitics averages of polls measuring whether voters would prefer Republican or Democratic control of Congress show the GOP advantage slipping from 4.8 points in late April to less than a point as of Friday. At around this point in 2010, when Republicans saw historic gains in Congress, generic polls showed an advantage of 4 to 6 points for the GOP.

Good news for us. Let's hope this holds when election day comes.

If people want 50k or even all of their student debt forgiven

then reelect a Democratic majority in Congress in 2022 so they can get rid of filibuster and pass a student relief bill that won't be struck down by the courts. It's that simple folks. I see some people on DU attacking Biden on this he promised 10k that was it and you got it.

How inflation is influencing politics in a bellwether Florida county - NPR

Jared Muha, 28, had hoped to buy a house when he became a high school history teacher. But instead of a house, he had to find a roommate, because his rent went up $400 this year.

"I have a master's degree, six years of experience and two jobs, and I don't feel like I can just, like, live comfortably in the world," Muha said. "I knew I wasn't going to be rich when I got a degree in history, you know what I mean? But I would like to just be able to live comfortably."

Muha voted for Biden "very reluctantly." He said he wishes the president would follow through on his campaign promise to forgive a portion of student debt. He feels like Democrats take their base for granted — but he said he probably will still vote for the party in the November midterms.

As Jill Mallen packed groceries into a bag at a food pantry in St. Petersburg, she complained about how grocery prices have shot up. The 62-year-old bone cancer survivor is on disability and said the pantry has become her main source of food.

"I can't afford to go to Aldi and places like I used to go," she said. "I don't have money left over with the increase and everything ... to go to the grocery store."

Mallen owns her home but said she currently can't afford insurance on it because homeowners insurance rates have increased.

She said the economy was better under Trump. So now, she feels politically confused. "I'm a registered Democrat," she said. "I have issues with our former president ... I don't like the untruths that took over with that party — even though I like the economy better."

This is interesting on how Democrats feel about the economy, Democrats need to messaging to voters like these.

Any thoughts on the upcoming special election of NY District 19 on August 23rd?

From what I read on NY times not a lot of Democrats are feeling confident about this race. What gives me hope this that we outperformed in the last two special house district elections so we might just pull of a win but what are people's thoughts that actually live in the district.
