American Airlines opens investigation into employee who hit woman with baby stroller

Source: RawStory

American Airlines has suspended an employee, and opened an investigation, after he reportedly hit a mother carrying a child with a baby stroller before challenging another passenger to a fight.

Friday night the flight attendant confronted a woman who was attempting to store a stroller in the the overhead bin on flight scheduled to leave San Francisco to Dallas. Taking the stroller from the woman the attendant hit her with it and just missed her baby she was carrying, creating outrage from fellow passengers.

In video posted to Facebook, the mother is seen crying at the front of the airplane while holding a child.

A man wearing an American Airlines uniform boards the plane and is confronted by a male passenger who admonishes him, “you do that to me and I’ll knock you flat, ” before being told to “stay out of it,” adding, “Try it. Hit me. You don’t know what the story is.”

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Gunmen wearing army uniforms stormed a military compound in the Balkh province, killing or wounding more than 100 army personnel, an Afghan official said Saturday.

Daulat Waziri, spokesman for the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense, said the attack a day earlier on a compound of the 209th Corps of the Afghan National Army left dozens of soldiers and other personnel dead or wounded.

Gunmen entered the compound with a military vehicle and began shooting at soldiers as they prayed in a mosque, he said.

Waziri said there were 10 attackers. Two carried out suicide attacks and eight other attackers were killed in the battle.

It's 11 pm here and I drank a lot of beer while I watched the playoffs, so maybe I'm a bit out of it: Could someone tell me again why we still have troops there?

Trump: Attack in Paris will have 'big effect' on their election

Source: Politico

President Donald Trump predicted Friday morning that a shooting on Paris’ famous Champs Elysées “will have a big effect on presidential election” in France, voting for which begins on Sunday.

Thursday night in Paris, gunman opened fire on police officers, killing one and injuring two others. The gunman then fled and was killed by another police officer in a shootout that also hit a foreign tourist. French President Francois Hollande said the shooting was “likely terrorist-related” and the Islamic State claimed credit for the attack after it occurred.

“Another terrorist attack in Paris. The people of France will not take much more of this. Will have a big effect on presidential election!” Trump wrote on Twitter Friday morning.

The U.S. president has not officially backed a candidate in the French election, but far-right candidate Marine Le Pen is widely seen as holding views, especially on immigration and terrorism, that are close to Trump’s. Le Pen, one of the election’s frontrunners who spoke Thursday of her “anger” following the attack and insisted that France possesses “the means to defend itself,” met with Trump in his Manhattan skyscraper during the transition period.

Trump hopes this will help Le Pen get elected. Odd how his hopes = most people's fears, ain't it?

PS: Does anybody here know a great cure for insomnia? I've already tried the top two.

Insomnia

It's after 2:30 in the morning here, and I still can't get to sleep, even though my wife and I had sex a few hours ago. When I was young, that used to put me out like a light! Now, even two shots of tequila chased by beers ain't doing it.

Mockery, anger in South Korea over USS Carl Vinson 'bluffing'

Source: CNN

(CNN) US President Donald Trump said he was sending "an armada" to Korean waters to potentially deal with threats from Pyongyang.

But its no-show has caused some South Koreans to question his leadership and strategy regarding their unpredictable neighbor in the north. And as the country prepares to vote for a new president on May 9, the claim could have far-reaching implications for the two countries' relations.

"What Mr. Trump said was very important for the national security of South Korea," Presidential candidate Hong Joon-pyo told the Wall Street Journal.

"If that was a lie, then during Trump's term, South Korea will not trust whatever Trump says," said Hong, who is currently trailing in the polls.
