Need some help w/new desktop

I recently bought a new Acer and I'm trying to figure out how to back it up.

It is asking for a Flash Drive to back it up with.

What do I need? A 1 TB flash drive? I'm baffled I must admit!

Thanks for any help at all!

No more Purina One Salmon and Tuna being produced

Just my luck.

All three of my cats eat this dry food.

I tried the substitute which is Purina One Salmon Bites and they would not eat it.

I found what I thought were some bags of it online, but when it arrived it was the Salmon Bites stuff, not the salmon and tuna.

I called up Purina to find out is up with this as the bag looks identical but it is a different mixture/name now.

They gave me a refund for a small portion of it and advised that I feed my cats Friskies Seafood Sensations. I found a small bag of it at the store and when I got home I read the label and its #1 ingredient is ... CORN.

So, I took this back too for yet another refund and am trying to find other supplies that are left but it impossible. So far there have been six orders and all were for the wrong type of Purina One.

Can anyone give me ideas for dry food? These are finicky cats (of course) and I have not a clue where to begin without having to lose another few hundred in buying the wrong food scenario. The animal shelter where I adopted Mr. Silver and Andy and Missy from were very happy however as I donated close to 50 lbs.+ of dry cat food to them, so the end was not so bad in hindsight!

They all seem to like the salmon/tuna mixture and I have a small supply left and they eat Fancy Feast and sometimes Newmann's Own canned organic cat food. I need a new dry food ASAP it is looking like.

Thank you for any ideas you may have!

My dear huge tomcat Silver has been sick

It was a bark like cough where his whole insides were shaking. He is 3-1/2 years old now and I knew I had to get him to a vet!

I some how managed to get him in a cage my late Dad made for my cats in 1980 (it is indestructible, hence the reason I've kept it all of these years!). He moaned all the way there and when we got inside we had to isolate him into another room as he was moaning like he was dying.

They could hear the congestion in his lungs and gave me an RX for antibiotics (no fever present luckily). I am having great difficulty giving him the pills.

They also wormed him (I just did this 3 weeks ago!) as they said it could be round worms. I did not think it was but went along with the vet.

I asked them to give me some sort of a sedative if I need to bring him back as he'll never go for the trick I pulled on him to get him in that cage and I know it.

They charged me $27.00 for TWO little pills of gabapentin (aka Neurontin) as a sedative. Isn't that a steep price to charge? Input please!

The bill is now $150 so far on my dear Silver. He is not coughing any more so I guess the antibiotics are working but he still has 5 more days to go on the pills. I fear for my life when I attempt to pill him. I ground the stuff up and added it to food with cat treats sprinkled on top. This has worked a couple of times.

He is a BIG boy. He is 17-1/2 lbs. and stands above my knee in height and he is not overweight. It is solid muscle and he is a force to contend with when aggravated.

Any tips out there? What will I do if I have to take him back again? *sigh*

Thanks in advance for any help at all! We've got 5 days to go with those pills. He seems a lot better but ... ???

New kitty!!!

It has been almost 10 mos. since dear sweet Julie died from being poisoned by that flea poison. I've been really sad for far too long so, I adopted a new kitty from the same shelter I got her from.

Introducing to you is "Missy", the name of another cat I had years ago by this same name that lived to be 17 years of age.

Missy is a black cat with a big white heart shaped spot on her chest and wisps of white fur in her ears. She is about 9 mos. old now and was sick when I found her and was scheduled to be put down soon. So, along came me, Dr. CountAllVotes to the rescue.

I've spent the last few months doctoring her up and as of yesterday, she has no parasites to be found. The problem she still has is runny eyes at times and a sneezing at times too. I've taken her to two different vets and there is not much they can do for her so I am putting eye drops in her eyes 2X a day and giving her l-lysine to dry her up. It seems to help a bit.

Anyway, here is her picture

She is my new little "troublemaker" in life and she is full of energy and oh my, the look on her face is one that says, "I scored big time! No more shelter where I was hulled up for almost 5 long sad mos. in this kill shelter! I have been adopted!".

As for my other two cats, the two large tomcats that are brothers, Andy and Silver, well they are learning to love her! She is very very smart and wow, I've never had a black cat before but all of those stupid things you hear about them (superstitious crap) is simply not true!

Missy is a blessing in my life and knowing that I saved a kitty from being killed gives me a sense of satisfaction.

She has NO FLEAS and I still hope that Elanco Pharm. rots in HELL for killing poor sweet Julie but it is over now and I never got any real recourse but I still do my best to spread the word about the use of their toxic poisons on pets, cats and dogs alike as the ingredients, spinetoram and spinosad are KILLERS so please do not use them on your pets. They are found in their edible and topical flea killing products and there are several of them so BEWARE!!

Anyway, here's a toast to Missy, the kitty no one wanted at all that is now dearly loved and has herself a forever home as long as old CountAllVotes is still alive!

If you'd like a new cat or kitty, please adopt from your local shelter! Every time you do this you save a life. Never "buy" a pet! NEVER! There are far too many waiting for homes like Missy was and to see how grateful they are afterwards makes it worth every ounce of effort!

'He turned the page on violence and conflict' - Barack Obama leads tributes to Martin McGuinness

The former US president, Barack Obama, has sent his condolences to the family and friends of Martin McGuinness as thousands of mourners are expected at his funeral today in Co Derry.

Mr Obama said that the former deputy leader of Northern Ireland had a "persistent belief" in a better future for the people of Northern Ireland.

"I send my condolences to the family and many friends of Martin McGuinness, a man who had the wisdom and courage to pursue peace and reconciliation for his people.

Glad to see that President Clinton will be attending the funeral of Martin McGuinness; quite fitting considering it was he that allowed Gerry Adams, TD to pay a visit to America when he was in the White House back in those good old days before 9/11 in America.

My friend with MS has died

Yes, he has died.

He had plenty of money for care, luckily and a wife that truly loved him.

I am really upset about this news, albeit late.

What a cruel damn disease this is! How far gone does one have to be before they believe you have this disease?

The cruelty of this illness along with the stupidly of many out there in the world makes me as sick as the disease does!

Here is my late friend's website:

He tried everything, yes everything to no real avail.

In the end he could not move nor speak and died.

I hope to god this is not how I will end up as I have no family that gives a damn about me. Friends have dropped like flies since my diagnosis some 20+ years ago.

I am blessed with a loving husband. He is over 80 years old however and going blind.

Resources are few where I live. The local neuro's office will not see me being I don't believe their disease modifying drugs will help me and they cost upward of $15K a month! When I told him I was on Medicare he laughed at me and said, "Medicare? Hahahaaa! That doesn't pay for anything!", I kid you not!

I am not eligible for Medicaid because I am not destitute enough for their likes.

Gone for awhile I shall be as this news is like a punch in the gut to me.

May my dear friend RIP.
