3. Well to be fair, "peace" carries little sway in most nations

Peace does not enrich those who decide whether there will be peace or war, after all. and it's easy enough to work the people into a fine lather, an orgy of glee over killing the "enemy" whether it be the "savage beasts" beyond the borders or the "skulking heretics" within them.

Looking at Israel, I see patterns that look very, very much like the rise of Golden Dawn in Greece. Not as open as an organized group no, but definitely a unified philosophy where the Arab, the left, and the "infiltrator" are also "the enemy."
