What I'm wondering about re: this whole thing ... what exact would the 'crime' be if Trump were found to colluded with Russians to distribute Fake News to people's FB and similar feeds? Can someone point me to a statute that actually makes a candidate doing something like that ... illegal? Would you have to prove the candidate colluded with 'The Government', or is it enough to just collude with 'foreigners' in general? Would it be illegal if they were from, say, the UK as opposed to Russia?
I mean after all, how different would THAT be ... than the GOP clearly colluding with Aussie Rupert Murdoch to distribute fake news and GOP talking points and wild CT's ... for over 20 years.
I understand the DNC (and similar) hacking involves an actual crime, but unless you could say w/o doubt Trump ordered and directly paid for said hacking (pretty doubtful honestly, esp. the idea we might ever prove it, esp. since he wouldn't NEED to pay for it himself) I'm not sure we'd actually 'have them' on anything technically illegal if it was just targeted fake news, with perhaps some Soviet-bloc civilians involved in the process.
Unless someone knows something I don't?
However, all the lying on forms and before Congress over Russian ties, and the Comey firing, and the obstruction ... like they say ... it's always the COVERUP that gets ya. Trump probably should've just copped from the start ...
