Takes me back to this TV Guide cover during the original "Star Trek" series - probably latter first season. It was a photo of Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock. And the headline caption read: "Is it Sexy to be Smart?" As I recall, even though I was in high school and minimally sentient, there were two leading men in that series, each a wholly different type with a large healthy following. Shatner's Captain Kirk was the handsome-macho-leading-man, while Spock was the Nerd King whose cerebral, logic-only persona made him tempting to many female viewers (many of us love that character who can't be melted because of this secret feeling that "ahh, but it's I alone who can reach him&quot . To a later generation it would have been depicted as "Team Kirk" versus "Team Spock." I was on the Spock team. It is INDEED sexy to be smart! No wonder I married the man I married!
