Found in the NYT comment section of an essay warning of the dangers of Trump: [View all]
First, they let Limbaugh terrorize the nation, and I didn't speak up because I didn't listen to the radio.
Then they let Fox "news" lie every day, and I didn't speak up because I didn't watch TV.
Then they let SCOTUS ignore a state-mandated Florida recount and install Bush and Cheney, and I didn't speak up because I didn't live in Florida.
Then they pushed through Citizens United to let billionaires buy the government and I didn't speak up because I had little money.
Then they let Russia pour more money and propaganda into America, and I didn't speak up because I was distracted by football.
Then they let Trump lie thousands of times about Covid and everything else, and I didn't speak up because I was focused on my family.
Then they let an insurrection invade the halls of Congress and nearly destroy the peaceful transfer of power, and I didn't speak up because I don't live in DC.
Then when the fascists finally took over everything, I was no longer able to speak up.
