Republicans knew EXATLY how to set the system with protection on all sides. Pack the SC and the federal courts and you have a good shot at having a fail safe. Take State houses and you can start passing extreme laws with the comfort knowing you have the courts on your side. Remember, the SC didn't "overturn ROE, they sent it back to the states to decide. Republicans gave themselves several layers of protection and many different ways to get their agenda implemented. That a big wound up mess. Unwinding it, well, that's going to be quite the challenge.
