E. Jean Carroll has taken over 3 1/2 years to get Trump to trial for her civil suit.

If Trump is indicted that doesn't mean the trial will follow shortly. Then even after a trial is scheduled and if Trump is convicted there will be appeals.

I think that it will take 3 years at least after an indictment to hold the trial. Also, Trump may be convicted and his sentence may not involve jail time.
