Rockets and drones are being fired from bases in Russia, not Ukraine. We'd have to eliminate those bases, which means direct strikes in Russia. Otherwise, we're wasting resources.

If we're going to do all that, we may as well "liberate" the Crimean peninsula, since we're in the neighborhood.

I'm sure the war plans are being polished, somewhere in a sub-sub-basement of the Pentagon.
