I've been saying that this thing is all about down-ticket races for a while now.
The Rs really had their shit together in the 90s when they focused on down-ticket races and filled up the statehouses, just in time for redistricting. We need to retake all of those seats so we can get things done.
My hope is that RomneyRyan will be so repugnant that the Rs will stay home. Team O needs to have a huge GOTV push and make it clear that winning a second term is not enough -- everyone has to show up and cast a vote for all of the down-ticket races.
