(2,753 posts)Bromwich may be -- probably is -- a fantastic lawyer, but the GOP partisans are still holding (pardon the expression) the trump cards. It remains to be seen if anyone can stop the GOP steam roller.
Best thing to happen, if it is possible for it to happen, is that Bromwich manages to snare the GOP in a litigation trap that will eat up time and cause Kavanaugh to withdraw but only at a time too close to election day for IQ45 to put up another name for Grassley et al to rubber stamp through the confirmation process.
I'm not holding my breath, but if it does work out that way, it's just possible that this nightmare could end happily and the Federal government will be able to return to the boring old days.

When you could argue with the opposition on principle and both of you could come away maybe a little better informed and enlightened? When leaders of the major parties could actually reach workable compromises for the benefit of the commonweal?
