Heavy hitters! although on the opposite side of some issues like supporting Ken Salazar, Deep Horizons PR, and police misconduct strategies.
Whatever, got to make a living.
Paying it forward is so awesome for this case.
Hats off for helping prep Dr. Blasey Ford for her Senante Shark Tank Hearing.
I hope a large Bromwich Group team is digging deeply investigating Dr. Ford's allegations.
That's what Olivia Pope's team would be doing.
They have 4 days!
Dare we dream they find some more accusers?

Do not embarrass Trump and the republicans with a discussion about "ethics, and sexual accusations. (or crimes)..NOW with Kavanaugh.. If Kavanaugh did not do something wrong, that is if he were totally innocent of all this, it would be already over.
......... But it is obvious..it is not over..... Kavanaugh is a sleezball.

(115,586 posts)His previous clients have mostly been show-biz people litigating civil cases involving contracts and intellectual property. This case is way out of his league. Ford doesn't need someone to drag her through the media like some kind of trained seal so he can get face time on TV; she needs someone who understands federal legislative branch procedures and complex investigations.

(58,785 posts)Avenatti's very talented, but he has various agendas and has screwed up more than once, including a major crash-and-burn bankruptcy. He has a fondness for high-profile cases and racing cars.
They're representing different sorts of people, very different sorts of cases. I liked Stormy Daniels and wished her success in her case against Trump because he's such a scum, but she's fighting to break a contract that honorable people wouldn't have entered into in the first place, received payment, pocketed it, and hired Avenatti to cheat on a cheater so she could make more money.
Bromwich is a former DoJ Inspector General (!) who will be assisting a woman who is going up against the entire Republican establishment to try to keep a bad man from a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court.

(102,119 posts)As Inspector General, Mr. Bromwich was best known for conducting special investigations into allegations of misconduct, defective procedures and incompetence in the FBI Laboratory; the FBIs conduct and activities regarding the espionage of the CIAs Aldrich Ames; the handling of classified information by the FBI and the Department of Justice in the campaign finance investigation relating to the 1996 Presidential election; the alleged deception of a Congressional delegation by high-ranking officials of the Immigration and Naturalization Service; and the Justice Departments role in the CIA crack cocaine controversy. During his tenure as Inspector General, Mr. Bromwich testified before Congressional committees on about 20 occasions. Over his five years as Inspector General, Mr. Bromwich took a new and virtually anonymous agency within the Department of Justice and shaped it into an internal investigations powerhouse, which it remains today. --snip--
Mr. Bromwich also serves as a non-resident Senior Adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). His pro bono work includes assisting The Innocence Project on various projects, serving as a member of its Lawyers Committee, and working with The Constitution Project on DNA collection issues. He serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Mr. Bromwich has published articles in law reviews and other publications on conducting and managing complex investigations. He has made numerous appearances and given presentations in the U.S. and abroad on energy and regulatory issues, law enforcement, criminal law, and the importance of oversight. He has participated in nationally televised symposia on the Independent Counsel Act, and expert panels on the operation of the jury system in high-profile cases and the changing role of federal prosecutors. He has made appearances on a wide variety of nationally televised news and public affairs programs.

Yes, I know, at this point we don't know what it was that made him decide to do this, although we can reasonably assume it was a righteous effort on his part.

(75 posts)Do you realize what this may mean? Bromwich likely was Inspector General after the Vince Foster suicide issue had been cleared by the FBI, and when Kavanaugh, working for Ken Starr, insisted on reopening it, much to the personal and unnecessary emotional distress of the Foster family. Bromwich may know from personal experience what kind of political operative many of us believe Kavanaugh to be. If true, he also might have personal knowledge about Kavanaugh's insistence to quesiton President Clinton about every imaginable lurid detail involving Monica Lewinsky, and about Kavanaugh's life-long personal vendetta (together with several who have connections to the PR firm representing Kavanaugh) against the Clintons, including his desire to pin murder charges on Hillary for Fosters death. If he could cross-examine Kavanaugh on some or all of this, whoa, Nellie! And he must have felt very strongly about all of this to have quit his posiiton on no notice. I am guessing he knows a lot more about Kavanaugh than the public knows at this point. I hope Kavanaugh is quaking in his boots right now.

(38,414 posts)Michael Bromwich knows the game inside and out: Negotiations, Testimony, Dealing with Congress, Department of Justice. etc. The whole game, inside and out.. His integrity, and what he has done in order to work for Dr. Ford, glows against Kavanaugh, Trump, and their crowd.
...Also, this lawyer knows what is at stake, a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court by Trump. Kavanaugh is an accused sexual predator, who thinks he will get away with it. Also, a liar, who has lied to congress in the past, Kavanaugh is so sure that he can prevail, that he is willing to go against the person he is accused of hurting. That attitude, of absolute confidence that he can, "get away with it." is why Bromwich has signed on. Now, there is someone at bat who knows the game, the pitchers, the managers, and the field. He ain't new. And he is more than willing to take them all on. Why? .....for the good of the U.S.A.

How dare her - actually come up and complain about an "anointed one?"
This is a BRILLIANT strategy - making sure she has the platform upon which to state her issues - and having the legal team in place to be sure that she is afforded the proper opportunity.

(38,414 posts)He has pushed her around, demeaned her, given orders, and set up a situation where she is demeaned. And, it is no mistake. Done by Grassley's team on purpose to knock her down, and elevate Kavanaugh. As if Dr. Ford is... "lying about it all". This is no game that Grassley/McConnell want to loose. That is the reason for making it so hard of Dr. Ford. Put her through the ringer so when she testifies, she looses, and McConnell, Grassley, and Trump win. That is what this is all about

(3,252 posts)I don't think for a minute that he only concerned with Kavanaugh. Bromwich knows Washington and knows who is naughty and who is nice. He has deep ties in the DOJ and the FBI. There is really something rotten about Trump selecting Kavanaugh and I suspect it is because he is "owned". Despite their past rulings, judges can change their minds but aren't likely to if they face criminal charges or public humiliation if they do.Trump doesn't deal in legal philosophy and I don't believe it was Kavanaugh's legal record that got him picked. This why they were in a hurry to rush him through and still think the Ford thing is just a bump. It is quite possible that obstruction of justic and other crimes have been commited. When I hear Assley whine about his schedule, I have to ask, whats the rush ? The only answer I can think of is that he's in deep doo doo if they don't get "their man" on the Supremes and the longer it takes the more likely that someone will fish up some dirOf course, it could be that he is just the syscophantic dumb ass he always was.
Stuart G
(38,414 posts)As well as Grassley, the power elite that is pushing Kavanaugh through, and Donald Trump....
What McConnell did to Obama's supreme court pick, is old hat, and now all that is important is "Kavanaugh" and "now"........
....Destroy the victim, no matter what...Kavanaugh must win..no matter what..

(2,689 posts)Bromwich may be -- probably is -- a fantastic lawyer, but the GOP partisans are still holding (pardon the expression) the trump cards. It remains to be seen if anyone can stop the GOP steam roller.
Best thing to happen, if it is possible for it to happen, is that Bromwich manages to snare the GOP in a litigation trap that will eat up time and cause Kavanaugh to withdraw but only at a time too close to election day for IQ45 to put up another name for Grassley et al to rubber stamp through the confirmation process.
I'm not holding my breath, but if it does work out that way, it's just possible that this nightmare could end happily and the Federal government will be able to return to the boring old days.
