32. True. My ex-husband spent far more money on his hair...

... on a daily basis than I ever did, even counting the fact I used far more shampoo/conditioner.

Of course, I'm a ginger so could never really experiment with different colors and still be able to go back to natural easily. My natural color doesn't come in a bottle, and even now that some of my strands are coming in white, so far they're blending well. And when you wear it long and are practiced at quick updos and braids, you don't need hair product.

His mother beat both of us hands-down -- a suitcase that would have carried all I needed for a weekend trip, or one of two I would have packed for a road project where I'd have access to laundry facilities, was for her makeup alone. I don't judge, to each their own and she wore it well. It was just an interesting contrast.

She still liked me, probably because when I came home to find she'd rearranged... my... entire... kitchen... I saw she'd also been cooking and was apparently planning on doing all the cooking her entire visit, calmed my immediate instinctive rage, and said everything smelled lovely. I knew which battles were worth picking, even if after she left I spent a day putting everything back.
