What would happen if he were fired? Either the person above him or below him in position would take over for Rosenstein. If Sessions continued to recuse himself from the Russia investigation, then he would not qualify to take over the investigation from Rosenstein, so it would then fall in the lap to the person just below Rosenstein in rank. I don't know who that would be unless it would be the gentleman that was photographed coming out of a dinner, at some fancy restaurant, with Sessions and Rosenstein?

I have not heard further news.
