1. What a stupid crime for a politician to committ - and for what? One frigging vote.

There is no way you will ever make me believe Mitt's son's unfinished basement was his primary residence. With multiple mansions to choose from it strains all credibility and bends the might to think he'd live like a college student.

Like I said in the title - For what? One crummy vote. This is why voter fraud is so rare at the ballot box. As the opponents of the draconian voter ID laws have pointed out voter fraud at the ballot box is such a low-yield, high-risk crime it just makes no sense to do it. You're very unlikely to turn an election in this manner because it would take so damned many people voting fraudulently to make a difference.

As we've seen, the real fraud is in disenfranchising voters through the ID laws and in tampering with the black-box voting machines. The yield is so much higher through these methods and with the complete lack of traceability and transparency in those voting machines the risk is low. This is where the payoff is. Not in the onesy-twosey level at the ballot box.
