Gary Chambers for President 2032

Watch this man eviscerate a school board member for online shopping during a discussion about racist Confederate monuments, gracefully tell off another board member and then eloquently explain why the monuments need to be taken down.

"Privilege is having history rewritten so that you don't have to acknowledge uncomfortable facts"
It's no accident that:
You learned about Helen Keller instead of W.E.B. DuBois
You learned about the Watts and L.A. Riots, but not Tulsa or Wilmington.
You learned that George Washingtons dentures were made from wood, rather than the teeth from slaves.
You learned about black ghettos, but not about Black Wall Street.
You learned about the New Deal, but not red lining.
You learned about Tommie Smiths fist in the air at the 1968 Olympics, but not that he was sent home the next day and stripped of his medals.
You learned about black crime, but white criminals were never lumped together and discussed in terms of their race.
You learned about states rights as the cause of the Civil War, but not that slavery was mentioned 80 times in the articles of secession.
Privilege is having history rewritten so that you dont have to acknowledge uncomfortable facts.
Racism is perpetuated by people who refuse to learn or acknowledge this reality.
You have a choice.

It's not that black people don't want or aren't motivated to vote. But voting is much harder for many of us than it is for many, if not most white folk, no matter how committed we are.
We're going to need to give aunties and grannies and church sisters plenty of reason to stand in line for hours.
They will surely stand in line as long as it takes if it means voting for a black woman for vice president.
And please don't say "if beating Trump isn't enough to motivate them to vote, then I don't know what ..." I know too many white folk who are threatening not to vote for the dumbest reasons - and none of them include being worn down by racist voter suppression to have the energy to stand in a line all-day and into the night just to vote ...
"Don't worry about me voting. Worry about my aunties and all her church sisters"

How are mask requirements any different than no-smoking prohibitions?
Anybody?
I mean, if a theater can prohibit people from smoking in order to protect the health of other patrons, why shouldn't/can't they require people to wear masks for the same reason?

Cincinnati Enquirer Op-Ed: Can you support Trump and not be a bigot?
Some of my Republican friends are quick to tell me how much theyre repulsed by Donald Trump, yet they continue to support him anyway because they like some of his policies. When I note that theyre supporting the darling of white supremacy, they insist this doesnt mean they condone racism or that they themselves are racist and they take great offense that I or anyone else would think otherwise because, after all, "You dont know whats in my heart."
...
Youre right. I may not know whats in your heart. But I can see what you do, and I can see whom youre doing it with. And I can see that when you support the candidate of white supremacy, you are aligning yourself with white supremacists, adding weight and power to their racism, even if you are not personally racist yourself.
When you vote, whether in person or by mail, no one will sort out the "racist Trump" votes from the "not racist Trump" votes. If you vote for Trump, your vote will go into the same pile with those cast by voters who support Trump because of, not in spite of, his racism, xenophobia and malevolence. And when the votings done and the counting starts, your vote will be counted right along with theirs, and the tabulators couldnt care less whats in your heart. All theyll see is that your ballot for Trump looks exactly like all the other ballots for Trump, and theyll simply mark you down as one more vote for the white supremacists candidate.
...
So, my friend, if you choose to vote for Trump in November, please dont be offended if youre mistaken for a racist, even if youre not. When you align yourself with racists, its hard to tell you apart from them, regardless what may be in your heart, because to those of us over here on the right side of history, you all look alike.
