The US has reported at least 45 mass shootings in the last month

CNN considers an incident to be a mass shooting if four or more people are shot, wounded, or killed, excluding the gunman; so does the GVA.
Here are the 45 incidents reported since March 16.

A black grandfather was punched and kicked by white police officers after suffering an epileptic seizure while walking his autistic grandson to school, his family says.

A female bystander captured footage of the Thursday morning incident in Minden, Louisiana, which saw five cops - four of them white, one black - gather around Robby Bailey, 53.

Bailey was already on the ground by the time the woman and another bystander began filming, with one of the white cops seen kicking him, and another filmed punching him.

At one point an officer yells 'stop resisting!' while Bailey's grandson, who family said is autistic, watches helplessly a few feet away.

His mother Margia Bailey, 80, told DailyMail.com on Friday morning that her son is being treated in hospital, although she is unsure how severe his injuries are.

She says that she has yet to see footage of the incident, and refused to comment further on the altercation.

Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper says the officer filmed kicking Bailey - who has not been identified - was placed on leave, KSLA 12 News reported.

Two tiny terriers chase very large bear out of California home

The brown bear thought he'd struck gold: an open door, an empty kitchen and a fridge stocked with food.

The shaggy burglar took his time, even stopping for a drink from a fancy water feature on his stroll into the Pasadena home.

Little did he know what awaited him: The wrath of Mei Mei and Squirt.

The two tiny terriers rose to the moment as if their lives, and kibble, depended on it.

First Mei Mei and then Squirt slid their little furry souls across the kitchen tiles, launching themselves up the garden steps, bombarding the beast with barks until he fled. The young brown bear was so shaken by the might of the doggy duo he peed on the steps as he made his leave.

Pfizer CEO says third Covid vaccine dose likely needed within 12 months, then annually

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/15/pfizer-ceo-says-third-covid-vaccine-dose-likely-needed-within-12-months.html

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said people will “likely” need a third dose of a Covid-19 vaccine within 12 months of getting fully vaccinated. His comments were made public Thursday but were taped April 1.

Bourla said it’s possible people will need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus annually.

“We need to see what would be the sequence, and for how often we need to do that, that remains to be seen,” he told CNBC’s Bertha Coombs during an event with CVS Health. “A likely scenario is that there will be likely a need for a third dose, somewhere between six and 12 months and then from there, there will be an annual revaccination, but all of that needs to be confirmed. And again, the variants will play a key role.”

“It is extremely important to suppress the pool of people that can be susceptible to the virus,” Bourla said.
