Dodge Charger Repossession Goes Horribly Wrong - owner tries to drive off the repo truck

https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/research/dodge-charger-repossession-goes-horribly-wrong/ar-AAR0Bv2?ocid=msedgntp

Sometimes you just have to let it go…
Getting your car repossessed isn’t a fun situation, however it’s usually avoidable. However you got into that financial pinch, the worst thing you can do is try fighting the repo guy for the vehicle, a lesson a Dodge Charger owner learned the hard way.

In the included video, you can see a white Dodge Charger hooked up to a repo truck’s boom, which is up in the air several feet. The rear tires of the Mopar are on the boom, the front tires on the pavement. When the video starts the “owner” of the vehicle is already inside and has the engine fired up. That person hits the accelerator and spins the front and rear wheels seemingly uselessly in an attempt to get the car back.

It seems useless, but after doing some damage to the rear bumper and the plastic shrouding on the chassis, the Dodge Charger is… still stuck on the boom. In other words, it does seem to be useless. The video doesn’t last long, so we don’t know how this situation ended, but I’m guessing the Mopar never drove away.

Los Angeles' top Catholic is anti woke, anti social justice

Earlier this month, Jose H. Gomez, Archdiocese of Los Angeles archbishop, gave a speech to a Catholic conference in Spain where he went verbally medieval on “woke” culture and social justice movements.

Called “Reflections on the Church and America’s New Religions,” Gomez laid into two of the right’s favorite whipping boys with the gusto of a Tucker Carlson. He called such movements “profoundly atheistic ... pseudo religions” pushed on the world by an “elite leadership class” that’s using the media to eradicate Christianity.

Those pesky elites, y’all!

The stern speech played well with many Catholic conservatives. But it sure didn’t get rousing applause at one of L.A.’s most Catholic of institutions.

-------

While conservative Catholics unsurprisingly praised Gomez’s words, an online petition demanding he apologize to Black Catholics gathered 13,000 signatures. His sin: opining that the millions of people who protested in the wake of George Floyd’s murder were actually the evil movements he decried “fully unleashed in our society.”

An archdiocese spokesperson said the archbishop wasn’t available for an interview because he’s at the biannual meeting of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, for which he serves as president. Gomez continued his culture-war words at the conference’s Nov. 16 opening public session, saying the United States was losing a national narrative “rooted in a biblical worldview and the values of our Judeo-Christian heritage.

These Fools Thought a COVID Party Sounded Fun. Now They Are on Respirators.

ROME—A prosecutor in the northern Italian province of Bolzano has opened an investigation after one man died and several others landed in intensive care after they reportedly attended a COVID party to try to get sick.

The trend has taken hold in northern Italy, where people who don’t want to get vaccinated are trying to get COVID to acquire a Green Pass to work, go inside bars and restaurants, and ride public transportation. In Italy, proof of recovery is sufficient to get the coveted pass for six months.

------------

The region is set to become a “yellow zone” in Italy, according to the local health coordinator Patrick Franzoni. “There are young people, even of school age, who meet with positives and try to acquire the infection, not realizing that the virus is also dangerous in children and in young people,” he told a radio station. “There are long-term consequences and even the less elderly can end up in hospital.”

At the parties, the infected mingle, kiss, and hug the unvaccinated in order to spread the virus, Franzoni said, adding the infected person could face criminal charges for knowingly spreading the virus during a state of emergency, which Italy is under because of the pandemic. According to the initial investigation, some of the parties are being held in outdoor areas of bars, which are accessible without a Green Pass. There, an infected person will drink out of a glass or bottle of beer and pass it around to try to spread the virus. Other events are held in private homes. In one case, the infected person was bedridden and the guests are said to have gathered around the sickbed to try to breathe in the virus.

GOP Senate candidate bragged that he's not vaccinated but financial disclosures show he's making money from companies that make COVID-19 vaccines

Republican US Senate candidate Mark Pukita of Ohio, who bragged last week that he has not received the COVID-19 vaccine, is making money from companies that produce the vaccine, a new disclosure with the US Senate indicates.

Pukita, an IT executive, holds up to $50,000 in Johnson & Johnson stock, making up to $1,000 in dividends in the past year, according to a financial disclosure viewed by Insider.

The disclosure also indicates he owns up to $15,000 in Pfizer stock, making up to $1,000 in dividends in the past year.

Pukita also has personal stock investments of up to $15,000 each in Thermo Fisher Scientific and Abbott Laboratories. Both companies manufacture COVID-19 tests.

SF store takes customer to small claims for thefts...says regular customers are more of the problem

Co-owners Christina Battle and Louisa Young say retail theft is a constant.

"In the past, every single police report we've ever filed for any kind of shoplifter or break-in entry has never had any resolution," said Christina Battle, Isalis Co-Owner.

Battle says the blatant theft the store experienced recently on Fillmore Street is not the norm. The store's co-owners say more often some repeat customers will take one or two items without paying for them.

"It's disheartening because these are our actual customers that come in," said Louisa Young, Isalis co-owner.

Frustrated and fed up, they decided to approach one customer differently who they say took merchandise from the store in May and June.

Tesla ranks almost dead-last on Consumer Reports reliability list

The electric car manufacturer now ranks 27th out of 28 car brands on Consumer Reports’ list, above only Ford-owned legacy luxury brand Lincoln. Much of it has to do with the overall instability of electric vehicles in general — especially SUVs — which Consumer Reports’ Jake Fisher said during a presentation are the “absolute bottom in terms of reliability,” according to Reuters.

But considering that, at one point, the Tesla Model S excelled so much in Consumer Reports’ own analyses that the organization itself said it was “breaking the Consumer Reports Ratings system” due to its excellence, the low rank is tough criticism for Tesla and its legions of enthusiasts.

Among the concerns Consumer Reports had for the Tesla Model S, X and Y lines, according to CNBC, were issues with “heat pumps, air conditioning” and notoriously, misaligned panels. It’s also worth noting that Tesla’s Model X ranked dead-last among all cars for reliability, scoring a 5 out of 100.

The issue, Consumer Reports’ Fisher told CNBC, is that the company has the tendency to “add so much tech that is not necessary.” And while this makes for a product that varies wildly from year to year, it is part of the Tesla brand that enthusiasts adore.
