Every fleeing conscript is a body that does not kill and a body that doesn’t get killed.

My guesses:
1. Judge was defense attorney … skews towards openness
2. Judge is liberal … skews towards openness
3. Judge believes openness serves democracy
4. Judge believes affidavit for warrant was well-founded and will vindicate him for issuing warrant

So … his principles and his own self-interest are aligned.

I’d like to know how the process works and I’d like to know what organizations are trustworthy

Putin never expected the “soft” West to sacrifice the oil and gas pipelines and the easy money gained through laundering Russian money through European banks.

Europeans have committed to serious sacrifices in order to defeat Putin.

First I give them credit for recognizing that they will pay a price. Second, I give them credit for being willing to pay that price. If you think we’re worried about losing elections in the US because of high gas prices, think how it must be for a German politician, knowing the German people will suffer.

Finally, I thank them for taking in (now) a million refugees, with more to come.

The West has softened since WWII and since the Cold War, but so have Russians. Do their soldiers and civilians have the stomach to kill their close cousins (ethnically and culturally?). This is far different from fighting invaders on your own turf.

It had to be done. Kudos to Biden for having the guts to do it. The “timing” was never going to be right. Better to do it early in his administration and be done with it.

China has built massive infrastructure by avoiding stupid wars. We need to to do the same and rebuild America.

I stand by Biden.

messaged vote by mail to such a degree that our votes were protected and counted or that the Republican Party walked away from the vote-by-mail advantage they have held for decades.

I never dreamed we would have such a huge advantage in mail-in voting.
