Rustynaerduwell's JournalSoon, when they no longer have anything left to benefit each other,
Trump and the Evangelicals will part ways. Theirs has always been a transactional relationship. They have both lost power in this election. Praise the Lord.
It's chilling to me that a total of 70,000 votes in three states
stopped Trump from winning the electoral vote. We were that close to a repeat of 2016.
Edit- a later (scarier) post said it better than me. A switch of less than 23,000 votes spread across WI, AZ and GA would have handed Trump the election.
Looks like Trump's hair has conceded.
I've been afraid to post this. I've been afraid to think it.
We need to prepare for the possibility that Trump succeeds. There are more people in this country than we realize who would be happy if he did. There are more people surrounding him than we appreciate working toward that outcome. We haven't seen the end of what he can get away with. We haven't since the day he took office.
Re: The ACA. With Biden in the WH, the Repubs have put themselves in a no win situation.
If it is struck down, everyone will want it replaced with the something bigger and better that Trump promised. And it will be Biden that gets the credit when it comes.
If they lose the case, Biden is free to build on it, making it the bigger and better health care system that Trump promised- getting the credit when it comes.
And if the Republicans try to obstruct any of this, they will get the blame for any part of the bigger and better that doesn't happen.
So, 2020 has made me not trust anything. Is there any chance at all right now that
Trump can stay in office? Through shenanigans with the Electoral College? Through State Legislatures? Through the Courts? Through the Supreme Court? Through ballots being thrown out? Any way at all?
Most likely outcome seems to be Biden with 306 EVs
Isn't that tied with the biggest landslide in history?
