Just watched part 1 of Ken Burns' documentary on PBS

The US and the Holocaust. I thought it was very well done although my jaw is tight. I see so many parallels from this history n what Is going on here today and I’m worried..just about scared. I am not naive to think it could never happen here when I see the people saluting like Nazis at the rally in Ohio just last night. I just don’t understand why the powers to be can’t nip this in the bud before it’s too late. How much more evidence do we need to make the case of insurrection n those responsible? I have faith in our system but I’m afraid time is not on our side.

It's Labor Day Weekend

Lots of mattresses on sale n other stuff but not a word of why this is set aside for the labor of our country n to celebrate them. As a proud union member for over 30 years, our history is long and filled w/ wins n losses. Tears n blood. A few highlights..we all know of the Matewan coal mining d strike in WV but they finally recognized unions w/ the National Industrial Recovery Act 1933. Then, the United mine workers. The Breads n Roses strike in 1912. 1933 Frances Perkins becomes first woman secretary of labor..I could go on about Mother Jones who got active after her shop burned down. We have a strong history of human rights..equality..decent days pay for a day’s work. Today, health benefits, parental leave, and I’m preaching to the choir but they came at a cost. Buy a mattress or a ‘fridge but know this holiday is for all of us in the work force..union or not. We have a long history in solidarity, I say Happy Labor Day.. support your local unions n I thank you. ✊

Why are they getting forgiveness?
Any way to rescind their forgiveness?

About Covid n it’s various degrees of infection. I was very in tuned to this segment b/c a very good good of mine n her husband who have their shots n boosters are now down w/ Covid of some kind.i wondered why I had not heard from her n now this. She is the second friend I know that have shots n boosters n now down w/ Covid of some kind. I am not freaking out.. I have been mocked n called a worry wart I can’t say how many times b/c I still wear my masks. Please. I’ll take all of it..wear your masks. I hear another booster maybe this Fall so just get it. In my mind I think of it as a plague n just maybe a booster every year like the flu shot.. be well..

Thom Hartmann is on from noon to 3 n I only have it on my car..I need to get in in my home as I don’t drive that much any more. Today, he asked..what would it be like under an American Fascist Government. If I don’t get zapped for this..I would hope my DU friends would read his posts/emails. Yesterday was about the Advantage program w/ Medicare. Very enlightening n he is putting it out there..we need to make sure others hear of these issues, too. I mean no disrespect for my opinion here to the administration or any Du friends, Just thought I’d pass this on..
