Donald Trump accidentally declares himself ineligible for the presidency

From the Washington Post

Donald Trump's prepared remarks generally serve less as railroad tracks than as aviation waypoints. They're not the unswerving path he takes as he gives a speech at a rally, they're place he wants to get to -- but, as long as he's close, that's good enough.

In Greenville, N.C., on Tuesday night, Trump was supposed to criticize Hillary Clinton for telling the FBI that she couldn't recall details of her email server setup. "Hillary and her top aides told the FBI and others in related lawsuits that they couldn’t recall or remember key facts hundreds of different times," Trump was supposed to say, according to speech excerpts.

What he actually said was in that vicinity. But it also flew into some tricky territory.

"Hillary and her top aides told the FBI and others related in the lawsuits that they couldn’t recall or remember -- can't remember anything!" Trump said. "By the way, if she really can't remember, she can't be president! She doesn't remember anything! She doesn't even remember whether or not she was instructed on how to use emails. 'Were you instructed on how to use?' 'I can't remember.'"

Why's that tricky? Because asserting that Clinton can't be president if she doesn't remember details in an interview would mean that Trump, too, is ineligible for the nation's highest office. Big league.

We can isolate one particular deposition as evidence of this: His September 2012 deposition in a lawsuit regarding Trump University, the real estate training seminar series that has been the subject of fraud allegations and investigations by attorneys general in multiple states.

Over the course of that one interview, Donald Trump says that he doesn't know the answer to a question hundreds of times. He claims not to recall details related to questions dozens more.

Those darn polls

Please don't bash - while I am acutely aware that those darn poll numbers are propped up hype, each day at Daily Kis and Nate Sulver 538 Hillary slips a bit and tRump gains. Bogus or not, they shape and shake the psyche.

I'm wondering if and or when this "trend" will start shifting back to where Hillary was in the mid 80's and tRump was bare touching 20%. Or will MSM keep hammering til those darn poll numbers "consistently" show a 50/50 trend. I don't mean the likely voters but likely to win.

I know Hillary has a huge electoral edge, but these shape-shifting numbers cause me great angst.

Trump Surrogate Admits To Joy Reid: Trump Did 'Pay-For-Play'

In what can only be described as an epic failure, a Trump spokesman first admits that Trump participates in "Pay for Play" deals, but then tries to justify it because he is a private citizen and *everyone* does it.

Clearly, Steve Cortes has no idea that donating money (paying off) officials to get favors or special access is patently illegal, for any citizen. His spin comes so fast and so hard, you can see his eyeballs nearly roll back in his head as he tries to say that Trump plans to end it. Yes, you have to hear it for yourself:

CORTES: Donald Trump is a private yes, he has admitted that to citizen. Some degree there was pay to play that he tried to get access from politicians Which, by the way, significant business people do all the time.

REID: Wait a minute. wait a minute. Steve, are you saying that significant business people regularly engage in pay to play and that that's okay because they're private citizens?

CORTES: No, it's not okay. it's not okay.

REID: You just said that he's a businessman and it's not okay.

Trump dismisses questions about improper gift to Florida attorney general (WP headline)

Donald Trump on Monday dismissed questions about his failure to disclose an improper $25,000 contribution in 2013 to a political group connected to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who was at the time considering whether to open a fraud investigation against Trump University.

The Trump campaign declined to comment for this story.

And so that's the end of that? Trump dismisses...so MSM dismisses? WTF???

Don't look -- there's no story here about Trump's Pay to Play

One would expect Faux News to be silent on this, but CNN has drunk the kool-aid as well.

Last Friday, Washington Post reporter David Farenthold broke a blockbuster of a story about Donald Trump, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and a clear-cut pay-to-play scheme. Our report on that is here.

It's a blockbuster of a report that can leave no doubt about the fact that there was a quid pro quo between Bondi and Trump, with an equally clear effort to conceal it on the Trump Foundation reports.

In other words, it's truly a scandal. A REAL scandal. One that should have dominated today's Sunday shows and the newspaper headlines this weekend. Yet, there was no mention that I saw on any Sunday shows, and headlines are still dominated with bogus Clinton email stories.

Curiously, only MSNBC has reported the story at all. Joy Reid did a lengthy segment while sitting in for Chris Hayes on All In last Friday night, a bit of which we've clipped above. In the words of Joe Biden, this is a BFD.

dRump's lawyer tweets image of Hillary as a suicide bomber

Just how low can they go? Can we get just a little bit of media on this sickening tweet?

Donald Trump’s attorney, Michael “Says who?” Cohen, just tweeted a revolting image of Hillary Clinton during Trump’s insane immigration speech tonight.

It appears to be Hillary Clinton as an Islamic terrorist.

The Miss USA hopeful sued by Trump: 'There are ways to stand your ground'

Sheena Monnin saw beauty pageants as a way to fulfill her potential – she never imagined they’d be the gateway through which Donald Trump would try to destroy her life. Even now, she insists, the debacle has not made her anti-pageant, just anti-Trump.

-snip-

She wrote:

I have decided to resign my position as Miss Pennsylvania USA 2012. Effective immediately I have voluntarily, completely, and utterly removed myself from the Miss Universe Organization. In good conscience I can no longer be affiliated in any way with an organization I consider to be fraudulent, lacking in morals, inconsistent, and in many ways trashy.

I do not support this system in any way. In my heart I believe in honesty, fair play, a fair opportunity, and high moral integrity, none of which in my opinion are part of this pageant system any longer.

Thank you all for your support and understanding as I walk a road I never dreamed I’d need to walk, as I take a stand I never dreamed I’d need to take. After 10 years of competing in a pageant system I once believed in, I now completely and irrevocably separate myself in every way and on every level from the Miss Universe Organization. I remove my support completely and have turned in the title of Miss Pennsylvania USA 2012.

In June she published a self-help book, Hands on the Wheel: Getting Control of Your Life, which draws on her experience being bullied by Trump to help advise readers in dealing with bullies wherever they may find them.

NOTE: Where is this book? Maybe we can help make it a best seller?

Hillary's Bengazi/email/Clinton Foundation so called "scandals" or any of these tRUMP scandals???

This stuff here is so "juicy". Why isn't MSM covering any of the countless disgusting tRUMP scandals. Geez, they don't have to look very far and don't have to dig very deep.

Here's a poll to ask MSM -- which is your "favorite" Donald Trump scandal? You can only choose one....I know it's kind of hard.

Geez, it's practically impossible to decide -- they're all filled with such vile.

Hillary Clinton - The Briefing

Do these videos just go out to her supporters, or do they end up going out to any news outlets? This latest one is great and very timely. I'm just wondering who gets to see them?

Fact or Fiction: Is Donald Trump taking the drug Phentermine?

I came across this today. Maybe it's old news...but in light of Trump's wacko charlaton doctor claiming him to be the healthiest human specimen alive...I wonder if there's a way to dig into this some more.

“According to our source, the Donald Trump of today is on a diet drug called phentermine—and has been since at least April of 2014,” Gawker reported.
