LAS14's JournalGood article on how Wikileaks are taken out of context.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/10/12/fact-check-trump-clinton-wikileaks/91967506/OK. I mustn't be greedy.
I keep refreshing the window open to The Upshot, waiting to see Hillary's 86% chance of winning go up again. I gotta get a life!!!!
It could be that a number of voters saw the real Trump for the first time.
It's very interesting how this debate may have more negative fallout for Trump than the first one. Those in the know say that many Americans don't start to pay attention to the election til around now. If you're not a political or news junkie, you wouldn't have seen Trump rallies. The first debate showed Trump in a whole new light. Defensive.
But this one showed him as his true self. The one that fulminates at rallies that most people know nothing about. I think it's possible that many "undecideds," when they saw the real Trump, were appropriately horrified and decided Anyone But Trump.
I sure hope a bunch thought Hillary was great, contrary to their expectations. I sure did. But Anyone But Trump will do.
Is our society finally learning something about dealing with bullies?
The people in our living room and the PBS pundits, and, to some degree, CNN, were of the opinion that Trump may have not done himself a lot of damage, the way he did in the first debate. Of course all of us (being intelligent) recognized that on content, he lost badly. But we assumed that the American public would continue its disregard for content and be intimidated.
By this morning the tone had changed. It seems that watching a bully do his stuff for ninety minutes may have been a wake up. I hope everyone sees the front page of the New York Daily News. If we've learned even a little bit to recognize but not be intimidated by demagoguery and bully-hood, then Hillary will have done us a worth while service even beyond the good that she'll do as president.
Here is an OP that discusses the overnight turn around.

The best attack on Clinton smears I've seen anywhere.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2016/10/10/fact-checking-the-second-clinton-trump-presidential-debate/Is there really "real time" fact checking going on...
... in HillaryClinton.com? I can't find it.
I was really looking forward to this debate, but now it just feels too creepy!
I feel so sorry that Hillary has to be on a stage with him.
I bet he doesn't show up at the debate.
I wonder if Hillary will shake Trump's hand?
Maybe... if she has some hand sanitizer with her.
Ya gotta read the NYT letters to the editor today!!! (Sunday)
A week or so ago last Friday, David Brooks wrote a column lamenting the loss of idealism on the part of both campaigns (!!). Today all the letters were devoted to this column. As far as I can tell, the Times typically divides the letters based on the proportions that were recieved. Today no one agreed with Brooks. It was a great collection of intelligent kudos for Hillary.
I've been fuming about Shields and Brooks all summer and into the fall. I posted two OPs about it. I sure was happy to see these letters.
Sorry, no link to the Letters to the Editor. The links below are to my fuming OPs.
