They still don't get it.

They still think this is just about Bernie vs Hillary. Our star player vs theirs.

So clueless.

For sure, Bernie himself is one in a zillion. But this was never about him. It's about what he represents. What he fights for.

Social justice. Fairness. Equal opportunity. An educated and healthy society. Peace.

IOW, true progressivism.

Let them try to make this about Bernie. Let them remain dipshits.

We know what this is really about. And we're not going to budge.

When you get it, the choice is so clear. So easy.

Incrementalism. Because real change is scary.

We get it. Standing up and asking for, if not demanding, what you really want can seem a little daunting. Maybe you don't have a problem with it yourself, whatever *it* is, but surely the neighbors won't get it. They may need more time to understand.

Well gee, so maybe instead of asking for the whole pie, maybe it will be easier, safer, for now, just to ask for a small slice. And then later, another small slice. Eventually we'll work our way to getting more and more of the pie, finally achieving what we wanted!

They say politics is all about compromise. This is a type of compromise right? Right. And just how did that "civil unions" thing work out for you?

News flash: Incrementalism doesn't work. You either have something or you don't. Whether it's equal marriage, equal voting rights, fair and equal pay, or unlimited corporate political clout, there is no "half-way". No incrementalism.

These things are binary. On or off. You either have them in place or you don't.

I grew up hearing constantly about what a bad idea seat belts were. And pollution controls. Oh, we're staying in from recess again today due to the smog alert?

Now we have cars that are far safer, cleaner, and better performing than ever before. Better air quality and far fewer fatalities. Yet if anything, this has happened in spite of the major auto industry's efforts.

America is a progressive nation. By definition really. Just consider this country's foundation. The American voter generally seems to do the right thing.

Eventually. Really it's all just a matter of how long it takes us to grow a pair.

Stupid shit Bernie supporters say

Is there any?

Surely there must be some, considering how many gems I regularly see coming from the other side.

Currently my personal favorite is probably, "Mathematically, Bernie can't win. Even if he were to take all the remaining delegates, it still wouldn't be enough."

Righhht. So even though he's currently about 280 behind, he could take the remaining (almost) 900, and it wouldn't matter? Okaaay. (I guess we're supposed to admire their confidence that Bernie wouldn't be able to scrape together the remaining 50 or so SDs he'd need to clinch it?)

Certainly our side has put out some memes of equal brilliance?

Just curious, has there been a single HRH supporter to admit

...that this race has been anything but above the board?

I constantly hear from them (even HRH herself said it), the only thing they seem to care about: "She's got a huge lead!"

Have any of them ever questioned if that lead is fully legitimate? Or if it should even matter?

Is Bernie the new Nader?

Edit 2: This was never intended to suggest that Bernie is really any such "new Nader", or even that Nader was ever a "spoiler" to Gore. My intended points are that (1) whatever happens, they'll try to blame us for any difficulties their deeply flawed candidate will experience, and (2) I was curious to hear others' thoughts on the idea that Bernie must be careful to bend, but not break the will of the Dem party.

- - - - -

Remember kids, if Hillary loses, it will be on all of us.

Never mind how much she, DWS, the DNC, etc, sucks (oh wait, that term is sexist now, right?).

Edit to add:

The moral victory of exercising influence over the platform may have looked ephemeral in the years that followed: The defeat of Dukakis was blamed on excessive liberalism, leading to the 1992 nomination of Bill Clinton who took the party in a moderate direction. But Jackson in 2000 enthused at how much he was able to influence the White House in the Clinton years as well as catapult his top staffers into the Democratic Party apparatus. And had he not kept his supporters inside the Democratic tent, neither Clinton’s presidency nor Obama’s more liberal administration would have been possible.

Sanders never endorsed Nader, but he did endorse Jackson in 1988. If he wants his 2016 campaign to leave a lasting legacy on the Democratic Party, he’ll walk Jackson’s path at the convention, and do everything he can to prevent his supporters from walking Nader’s.

Reply from the gov's office

...to our response that we won't be giving a dime to his campaign until he's ready to show he supports the will of his constituents.

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for reaching out to the governor about our recent Democratic Presidential Caucuses-- an exciting and invigorating expression of our Party's strength and passion heading into these crucial elections. I want to let you know that your message has been received and I will be passing along your comments to the governor.

As Democrats, we are lucky to have two great candidates running for President. Governor Inslee is supporting Hillary Clinton because he's worked with her for over 20 years, and he's seen on multiple issues that she is tough and effective in advancing the causes we believe in as Democrats.

I can tell you that the governor looks forward to giving his full support to whoever wins our Democratic nomination for President, because he feels strongly that a Donald Trump presidency would be a disaster for America. We have so much work to do as a united Democratic party- from putting a Democrat in the White House this year to ensuring a Democratic legislature in Olympia that will make progress on the big issues facing our state. Let's stay in touch and thanks again for reaching out.

With friends like these...

"Bernie's not a real Democrat."
"Bernie's just an opportunist."
"Bernie has no chance."
"Bernie never accomplished anything in the senate."
"Bernie could never accomplish anything as president."
"Bernie supporters are know-nothings and bullies."
"You're with us, or you're with the enemy."

As if we needed further convincing.

Hillary... because Trump?

I'm sorry, but it seems I've heard this just once too many times.

Let's examine, shall we?

1. Which Dem candidate consistently polls better against Trump?

2. Which does better in the types of primaries that more closely resemble voting in the GE?

3. Which has the better positive/negative favorability ratings?

4. Which does better in the states more likely to be won in the GE?

5. Which has no pending investigations, little chance for future ones, or preemptive impeachment threats?

If winning... because Trump... is the objective, then the choice is clear.

So if your goal in life is to defeat Trump, but you're trying to do it by bringing a knife to a gunfight, then get your shit together. I don't care how much you love your knife. It's the wrong tool for the job. Get on board with the right one, or I'm not going to take you seriously.

And sure as hell don't come complaining to me if we lose because of your failure to arm yourself for battle correctly.
