an Indiana fascist responds to Michican legalizing pot

Indiana State Police Sgt. Ron Galaviz said before Election Day that if the measure passed, he and his colleagues envisioned "dedicated patrols" to spot drivers coming from Michigan who might be high or have pot on them.

A reminder of why and when republiCons started suppressing votes

they are anti-Democracy

This tweet pretty much sums it up

Lets not make the same mistake twice

The GOP is again going after our top candidates with absurd accusations and our party is again wasting valuable time and resources defending against these accusations. The Sen. Warren ancestry issue is just a repackaged Obama birth certificate attack aimed at distracting the party and voters from focusing on what really matters, like, the GOP's attack on the safety nets, voter suppression, the rich tax giveaway, ect… We need to ignore these baseless attacks and go after these thugs with facts, the fact that they are all about destroying Democracy and this country.

Back in 2000, Trump was all for single payer, loved the Canadian system of Healthcare

From Trumps quickie campaign book of 2000

"We must have universal healthcare," wrote Trump. "I'm a conservative on most issues but a liberal on this one. We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by healthcare expenses."

The goal of health care reform, wrote Trump, should be a system that looks a lot like Canada. "Doctors might be paid less than they are now, as is the case in Canada, but they would be able to treat more patients because of the reduction in their paperwork," he writes.

Koch brothers' network launches new super PAC

Source: CNN

(CNN)Americans for Prosperity, the sprawling Koch political network, announced Monday the launch of a new super PAC arm as the organization gears up for the final stretch of the 2018 midterms.

The new super PAC was described as "a new tool to build broad policy coalitions in Congress to help advance AFP's vision," which "will advocate for candidates who share our commitment to breaking internal and external barriers that prevent people from realizing their full potential."
The super PAC, called "AFP Action," will operate independently of the network's preexisting 501(c)(4) nonprofit and with some key advantages.
Per campaign finance laws, the new group will be able to spend unlimited sums on election activities while being subject to some loose disclosure requirements, The nonprofit arm, however, is subject to even looser disclosure requirements but must dedicate a portion of their spending to "social welfare" activities that cannot explicitly target elections.

Fahrenheit 11/9: first trailer for Michael Moore's Trump documentary

The first trailer for Michael Moore’s Donald Trump documentary Fahrenheit 11/9 has been released, promising an incendiary look at modern life in America.

The Oscar-winning film-maker has been focusing on the effect of the president in an attempt to shift public perception before November. “I’m finishing my movie and getting it out before the midterms because I want millions of people to get to the polls,” he said to Bill Maher in June. “We’re going to bring Trump down.”

In the first footage from the film, we see Moore speak to Parkland student and activist David Hogg and rising Democratic star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Bowling for Columbine director is also seen spraying “Flint water” into the front yard of Rick Snyder, the governor of Michigan.

Moore goes on to describe Trump as “the last president of the United States”. The title is a reference to the day that he won the election.
In an interview with HuffPost, Moore describes Trump as an “evil genius” and speaks to the potential power of his new film.

“On opening weekend, Fahrenheit 9/11 was the number one movie in every red state in the country,” he says in reference to his award-winning documentary. “It was a hit in military towns and on military bases. My choir is the American people. The old guard of the Democratic party has failed to speak to them. I will at least give them a song they can belt out.”
