President Biden knew he was withdrawing from the race right after the debate. And he adamantly stated he was staying in, full well knowing he was getting out. The reason? He did not want the orange blobfather to pick a VP person of color if Kamala was the nominee. They waited until after his VP pick, knowing that tfg would do so in order to win more of the votes of black people. Maybe?

Opinion: Tenacious D Debacle Proves Cancel Culture Is Just for Libs

This just in: Free speech, still not entirely free of consequences. But how we respond when those consequences come calling for us speaks even greater volumes.

On stage during a Tenacious D concert in Sydney, Jack Black asked his bandmate Kyle Gass to make a wish for his 64th birthday Sunday before blowing out a cake. Gass’ flippant response in the heat of the moment—“Don’t miss Trump next time”—fanned the flames of discontent, coming just hours after the former president survived an assassination attempt.

Gass already has apologized, posting on Instagram that his ad-libbed line “was highly inappropriate, dangerous, and a terrible mistake.” He added, “What happened (at the Trump rally) was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment.”

Less than 48 hours after the concert—after Gass’ reps had dropped him but before Australian officials could try to deport Gass or the U.S. Secret Service could investigate the severity of his quip—Black dumped cold water over the publicity firestorm, announcing plans to not only scuttle the remainder of the band’s tour (they had three more dates scheduled in Australia this week, followed by two more in New Zealand), but also perhaps the band itself.

ESPY Awards 2024: Serena Williams roasts Harrison Butker.

The 2024 ESPYs had a lot of awards, an abrupt ending for many and some interesting moments, with some of the latter coming straight from host Serena Williams.

The tennis legend definitely seemed to be having fun cracking Caitlin Clark jokes in the opening monologue and singing a song dedicated to friend/rival Maria Sharapova, but the spiciest moment of the night came from a segment alongside her sister Venus Williams and "Abbott Elementary" star Quinta Brunson.

The trio delivered a tongue-in-cheek seminar on how fans can embrace the rising world of women's sports, and went for the throat while doing so. At one point, they told fans they could call the athletes "athlete," "champion" or even "dumbass," but they said in unison ""Just don't use the b-word." The line was a clear call-out of ESPN's own Pat McAfee, who apologized for calling Clark a "white b**** from Indiana."

Then the group ended it with Venus urging fans to enjoy women's sports as just sports. Serena's response: "Except you, Harrison Butker. We don't need you." Brunson's addition: "At all, like ever."

A new unconfirmed report from News Nation suggests that the powerful New York City law firm Grubman, Shire, Meiselas & Sacks just dropped one of their clients: Diddy. Moreover, the firm reportedly represents many music industry titans, and if this report is true, likely cut ties with him due to his various accusations and lawsuits concerning sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking. However, apparently this decision manifested at the request of another one of GSM&S' clients, Lady Gaga. "Lady Gaga said she was leaving [the firm] if they didn’t drop Diddy. And she’s too big to lose," an alleged insider told the publication.

Bill Maher Gets Roasted By Martin Short's Jiminy Glick On 'Real Time'.

If you’re looking for a few laughs, you have to check out this week’s Real Time with Bill Maher interview, which saw Martin Short‘s comedic Jiminy Glick character roasting the HBO host.

Glick, who has interviewed a slew of celebrities over the years, came out of retirement to chat with Maher about his new book, What This Comedian Said Will Shock You.

In typical fashion, Glick spent most of the time interrupting Maher, asking about other celebrities and talking about himself. He also teased Maher and made several jokes at his expense throughout the talk.

“I love this book,” Glick said while holding a copy. He then quickly admitted, “I haven’t read it. No, I’ve read it cover and cover, but nothing inside. But word gets back that it’s delightful.”


Soon after waking up, Glick quipped, “I’ve always loved Bill Maher’s opinions… Opinions about COVID, the whole COVID thing. I ‘love’ getting my medical advice from a club act.”

Meet the New York Hero who nabbed an accused child rapist.

A sweeping manhunt in New York City ended on Tuesday after 23-year-old Angela Sauretti recognized a man in a black hoodie who entered the 108th Street Grocery in Queens at 1 a.m.

Sauretti was all but certain this was the face she had seen on Instagram—in an NYPD wanted poster for a man suspected in the machete-point rape of a 13-year-old girl as she walked with a boy her age last week.

Sauretti called out to a friend who stood nearby who had also seen the police Instagram posting. She asked if this was indeed the man more than 60 detectives had been seeking since Thursday’s broad daylight attack in a park across from the victim’s junior high school.

“I pointed him out,” Sauretti told The Daily Beast. “I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s him?’ [The friend] said, ‘Yes, that’s him.’ That’s what confirmed it. And everything just spiraled from there.”
