DonViejo's JournalMorning Joe explains why Trump is 'spinning out of control' on Twitter: 'A shoe is about to drop'

MSNBCs Joe Scarborough mocked President Donald Trump for blowing up a possible deal with Democrats on tax reform with a tweet and suggested a possible reason hes spinning out of control.
-snip-
Theres a lot of chatter that something big, a shoe must be about to drop, he said, because Donald Trump usually seems to freak out and start spinning out of control like this, attacking CNN, attacking us oh, by the way, good morning, Donald attacking everybody in sight right before a shoe is about to drop.
The Morning Joe host said the Drudge Report, which Trump follows, hyped claims that another White House bombshell was about to drop, and he asked The Associated Press Washington bureau chief what the president might be worried about.
The shoe they are waiting to drop is Mike Flynn, that last week over Thanksgiving, there was more fuel added to that fire when it became public that Flynns legal team no longer talking to the White House legal team about the Russia investigation, said the APs Julie Pace.
Ever since (Paul) Manafort and (Rick) Gates and (George) Papadopoulos were indicted, Pace continued, this has been the fear in this White House, because Mike Flynn is someone who crosses over the three really crucial periods of time for this president, as relates to the Russia investigation the campaign, the transition and those early days in the administration. So whether thats going to happen or not, I dont know about Flynn, but that is the fear inside the White House right now.

Roy Moore campaign touts support from dubious Indiana group
NOV 28 2017, 9:53 PM ET
by VAUGHN HILLYARD, MIKE MEMOLI and CARRIE DANN
FORT PAYNE, Ala. Largely abandoned by the national Republican Party but eager to reinforce President Donald Trumps tacit support for his candidacy, Alabama Senate hopeful Roy Moore on Tuesday touted the endorsement of a super PAC his campaign described as having been founded by seasoned campaign veterans who helped power Trumps victory in 2016.
But the organization now backing the controversial candidate ahead of the Dec. 12 special election was founded just weeks ago by a 24-year-old aspiring political operative who acknowledged to NBC News Tuesday that hes trying to disassociate himself from white nationalist organizations he appeared to have affiliated with in the past.
The situation speaks to the degree to which Moores campaign is understaffed and underfunded, seemingly unable to perform a basic check of a previously unknown political entity, IndianaFirst, or its leader, Caleb Shumaker, who has had ties to a fringe party considered a hate group by leading civil rights organizations.
The Moore campaign press release announcing support from the IndianaFirst Super PAC quoted Shumaker, listed as the organizations president, praising Moore as a threat to the do-nothing agenda of Washington elites, and vowing that his organization would work on the ground to power him to victory.

Millennial poll: Strong majority want a third political party
Source: NBC News
NOV 29 2017, 4:43 AM ET
by HANNAH HARTIG and STEPHANIE PERRY
A strong majority of millennials 71 percent say the Republican and Democratic parties do such a poor job of representing the American people that a third major party is needed, according to the results of a new NBC News/GenForward poll.
Sixty-three percent of millennials disapprove of the way President Donald Trump is handling his job as president. But millennials also hold a variety of political institutions in poor regard, and 65 percent think the country is on the wrong track overall.
Six in ten disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job, while 59 percent have an unfavorable view of the Republican Party and 42 percent have an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party. On the whole, millennials overwhelmingly do not think either party cares about people like them.
These views may help explain why a large majority of young adults across racial subgroups, genders and partisan affiliations say a third major party is needed. The survey was conducted October 26 to November 10, among a nationally representative sample of 1,876 adults aged 18-34.

How abortion could tip the scales in Alabama
BY BEN KAMISAR - 11/29/17 06:00 AM EST
Abortion has emerged as a firewall issue for Roy Moore in Alabama, where the embattled GOP Senate candidate is framing support for Democrat Doug Jones as a blow to the anti-abortion rights movement.
Abortion is a sensitive issue in Alabama, and one that favors Republicans. A 2014 poll by the Pew Research Center found 58 percent of those polled in Alabama say abortion should be illegal in most or all cases higher than in all but three states in the country.
Sentiments are strong enough that Moores campaign believes voters will choose the anti-abortion rights Republican over Jones, who supports abortion rights, despite allegations that the Republican molested or sexually assaulted teenage girls decades ago.
Moore has seized on those sentiments as he seeks to save his campaign, moving to make abortion a central issue in the campaign.

Canadian Man Pleads Guilty to Hacking Gmail Accounts for the Kremlin
Source: The Daily Beast
Karim Baratov didnt know he was doing work for Russias FSB when he cracked eight passwords of government officials for $100 apiece.
KEVIN POULSEN
11.28.17 9:29 PM ET
SAN FRANCISCOA 22-year-old man who ran a successful hacker-for-hire business from his home in Toronto pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy and identity theft charges Tuesday, admitting in open court that he cracked account passwords at Gmail on behalf of a customer who turned out to be an officer with Russias Federal Security Service, or FSB.
Karim Baratovs guilty plea is a minor milestone in U.S. efforts against the Kremlins hacking operations in the wake of last years election interference campaign. Under the terms of his plea agreement, he likely faces between 7 to 8 years in prison when hes sentenced in February.
Baratov, a Canadian citizen born in Kazakhstan, became involved with Russia through a black market hacking service he offered that would obtain other peoples Gmail passwords for an advertised rate of $60 per account. An FSB officer, using a pseudonym, offered him a premium rate of $100-a-head to hit a total of 80 targets over time, including people in other Russian agencies, and government officials in neighboring Eastern European nations.
Only eight of the hack attempts were successful, according to Baratovs defense lawyers, who say Baratov never knew he was working for the Kremlin. He had no idea until the indictment was unsealed, said attorney Robert Fantone.

Julian Assange Blasts 'Neocon' Daily Beast, Mangles Facts
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on Tuesday attacked The Daily Beast over a story documenting how Venezuela and Russia teamed up to push pro-Catalan fake news, tweeting: How to get your countrys fake news into the US: just say Russia. Example from the neocon Daily Beast. A brazen false allegation (left) claiming a study (right) shows 97% of tweeters about #Catalonia come from Russia+Venezeula. Study states the opposite. But in fact, the study foundas the Daily Beast reportedthat just 3 percent of social media messages about Catalonia at the height of the separatist conflict were posted by real profiles, and its author concluded that Russian media sites had used bots to invade the digital conversation about a regional political crisis in Spain.

Inside the tweet that broke Trump's day, again
The White House played the president's online taunts of Democratic leaders Pelosi and Schumer as a strategic effort to reassure his base at risk of a government shutdown.
By ANNIE KARNI and ELIANA JOHNSON 11/28/2017 08:07 PM EST
-snip-
Nearly three months after Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi left a Chinese food dinner at the White House gloating about an immigration deal, the Democratic leaders on Tuesday abruptly canceled a follow-up sit-down in response to a tweet warning that President Donald Trump was more interested in playing to his base than playing ball.
Meeting with Chuck and Nancy today about keeping government open and working, Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes. I dont see a deal!
Senior White House officials defended Trumps Tuesday tweet, arguing that it was the presidents strategic attempt to reassure immigration hawks that this time, Democrats werent going to stroll in and extract promises from Trump without making some painful concessions themselves. Others saw it as a potential overcorrection for a president who needs the support of Democrats in Congress to stave off a government shutdown.
Donald Trump wasnt just elected because of what he said to his base, said Stu Loeser, a former Schumer aide. He was also elected because he said he was a dealmaker who could fix Washington. Sitting alone at the table today, he looks like the emperor who cant close.
White House officials, however, insisted that the president had won a game of chicken by prompting the Democrats to bail at the last minute and that their absence at the planned meeting made them look like they were the ones obstructing negotiations.

Trump weighs 11th-hour boost for Roy Moore

The president likely won't visit Alabama, but he could try to activate his vast support network there before the Dec. 12 special election.
By ALEX ISENSTADT 11/29/2017 05:03 AM EST
President Donald Trump isnt planning to go to Alabama, but he still might use the weight of his office to help elect scandal-tarred Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore.
The White House is considering flooding the state with robo-calls, emails, and text messages in an offensive designed to activate the presidents supporters on Moores behalf, three people familiar with the discussions said. An administration-sanctioned super PAC, America First Action, is conducting polling in the state as it weighs a possible 11th-hour barrage.
Any White House-approved move would inject the president directly into a Senate race that is generating national headlines and become a focal point in a national conversation about sexual impropriety. Moore is confronting allegations that he sexually pursued teenage girls while in his 30s.
With the Dec. 12 special election fast approaching and polls showing a narrowing race, the Alabama contest is commanding the attention of Trump and top administration officials. The special election was a major topic of discussion during a Monday meeting between Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, and White House political director Bill Stepien, two people familiar with the gathering said.
