The House Ethics Committee is formally admonishing Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) for a tweet that attempted to intimidate President Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen ahead of his testimony to Congress last year.
In a report released on Friday, the Ethics Committee delivered a rare formal rebuke against Gaetz for his tweet, which it said "did not reflect creditably upon the House of Representatives" and "did not meet the standards by which Members of the House should govern themselves."
But the panel concluded that Gaetz, a close Trump ally, did not violate witness tampering and obstruction of Congress laws.
It cited similar findings from a grievance committee of the Florida bar finding Gaetz's tweet to be "unprofessional" and "reckless," as well as an apology from Gaetz himself.
In February 2019, a day before Cohen testified before the House Oversight and Reform Committee about his experiences working with Trump, Gaetz had sent a tweet accusing Cohen of having extramarital affairs.

'Like Armageddon': Rotting food, dead animals and chaos at postal facilities amid cutbacks

Employees at California postal facilities provide a glimpse of the chaos amid both the pandemic and widespread cuts imposed by the USPS.(Eduardo Contreras / San Diego Union- Tribune)
Aug. 20, 2020 11:07 AM
Six weeks ago, U.S. Postal Service workers in the high desert town of Tehachapi, Calif., began to notice crates of mail sitting in the post office in the early morning that should have been shipped out for delivery the night before.
At a mail processing facility in Santa Clarita in July, workers discovered that their automated sorting machines had been disabled and padlocked.
And inside a massive mail-sorting facility in South Los Angeles, workers fell so far behind processing packages that by early August, gnats and rodents were swarming around containers of rotted fruit and meat, and baby chicks were dead inside their boxes.
Accounts of conditions from employees at California mail facilities provide a glimpse of what some say are the consequences of widespread cutbacks in staffing and equipment recently imposed by the postal service.

President Donald Trump was caught in a precarious position when one of his top former aides and former campaign CEO was indicted for fraud after running a fake effort to build the wall on the southern American border.
Over a year ago, the Pentagon inspector general began looking into a suspicious $400 million contract given from the Department of Homeland Security to the construction company linked to Bannons group. The funds came at Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and Trumps urging
On Dec. 2, the Pentagon announced a contract worth up to $400 million to Fisher Sand and Gravel for the construction of 31 miles of new border barriers along the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge in southern Arizona, said the Washington Post.

CEO Tommy Fisher launched an aggressive effort to try and score a contract, making several appearances on Fox News and paying at least $100,000 in lobbying. Fisher also personally lobbied the president, gave hefty donations to Cramers Senate campaign, and attacked the Army Corps of Engineers for excluding their firm. Fisher was then Cramers guest to Trumps State of the Union Address in 2019. ..........................

While DeJoy announced that he would roll back all of his actions, he not only hasnt done it, leaked emails obtained by VICE News revealed that local post offices were told not to plug back in mail sorting machines that were taken offline.
Please message out to your respective Maintenance Managers tonight. They are not to reconnect/reinstall machines that have previously been disconnected without approval from HQ Maintenance, no matter what direction they are getting from their plant manager, Director of Maintenance Operations Kevin Couch put in an email.
