Ann Coulter quickly sparked backlash on Wednesday after she praised Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old charged with shooting three people — two of them fatally — during a Kenosha protest Tuesday night.
The teenager, who was armed with an AR-15, is from Antioch, Illinois, drove across state lines to stand guard outside businesses during unrest stemming from the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man who is now paralyzed as a result.
He was taken into custody and will be charged with first-degree intentional homicide. Wednesday’s arrest record from Antioch Police said that Rittenhouse “fled the state of Wisconsin with the intent to avoid prosecution for the offense.”.........................

Players on the Milwaukee Bucks called Wednesday for the Wisconsin legislature to reconvene to address police brutality and criminal justice reform after boycotting their NBA playoff game to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
"We are calling for justice for Jacob Blake and demand the officers be held accountable," Bucks guard George Hill said in a statement to reporters as several of his teammates stood behind him. "For this to occur, it is imperative for the Wisconsin legislature to reconvene after months of inaction and take meaningful measures to address police accountability, brutality and criminal justice reform."
"We encourage all citizens to educate themselves, take peaceful and responsible action and remember to vote on November 3," Hill added.
The demand came as Kenosha, Wis., is gripped by protests and violence amid a summer of a demonstrations over racial injustice and police killings of Black Americans. The unrest in Kenosha stemmed from an incident on Sunday in which a police officer, identified Wednesday evening as Rusten Sheskey, shot Blake, 29, seven times as he attempted to enter his vehicle....................

3 Wisconsin Residents Sue Gov. Evers Over Mask Mandate, Say It Violates 'Rule of Law'

Three Wisconsin residents, on Tuesday, filed a lawsuit against Governor Tony Evers' recent emergency health order mandating masks statewide, suggesting that the order violates the "rule of law" in the state.
The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) filed the lawsuit on behalf of the three residents in the Polk County Circuit Court.
"This lawsuit is not about whether masks are good or bad, or whether Wisconsin ought to do more, or less, to address COVID-19. It isn't even about whether the state should have a mask mandate. This lawsuit is about our system of government and the rule of law," Rick Esenberg, WILL president and general counsel said in an email sent to Newsweek. "Governor Evers cannot seize these time-limited emergency powers more than once without legislative approval."
On July 30, Evers first issued the statewide mask mandate, which went into effect on August 1. The mandate required masks be worn in all indoor spaces or in enclosed outdoor areas. According to the order, violators could face a $200 fine. Evers cited "a new and concerning spike in [coronavirus] infections."

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s decision to deliver a speech to the Republican National Convention while on official travel to the Middle East was cleared by four teams of lawyers, two sources close to the secretary told McClatchy on Sunday.
But the nature of the speech, scheduled for Tuesday during a visit to Israel, is raising concerns in both Washington and Jerusalem, with two Israeli officials telling McClatchy that the event could aggravate a growing political divide over Israel in the United States.
The address to the key presidential election year political event from a sitting secretary of State is an uncommon event. While Pompeo’s aides did not say whether his speech would be live or pretaped, they said he would be delivering it from Jerusalem, where the Trump administration moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv in 2017.
“His lawyer, the State Department lawyers, RNC lawyers, White House lawyers have all worked on his appearance to make sure it is completely lawful and appropriate, including screening and approving all of his remarks,” one source told McClatchy. “They have all signed off on this.”
President Donald Trump personally requested that Pompeo make the speech, the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
