RandySF's JournalBernie Sanders Doesn’t Drop Out Of Presidential Race, But News Nets Drop Speech Mid-Way Through
With all the primaries over and Hillary Clinton having wrapped up the Democratic nomination, Sen Bernie Sanders is still not going quietly into the political night. However, once it became clear The Vermont Senator wasnt going to concede to Clinton, MSNBC and other cable news networks cut away from Sanders speech, which started at 5:30 PM Pacific, after about 15 minutes, though the Senator continued to speak online.
In his 30 minute speech livestreamed to his supporters, Sanders slammed Democratic leadership but said defeating Donald Trump in November was his top concern. The Senator also said he would be announcing how he would be participating in the general election at some point very soon. This marked the point at which the news nets began to tune out.
The Democratic Partys convention will be held in Philadelphia from July 25 to 28 with the Obama and Biden-endorsed former Secretary of State expected on the first ballot to be the first woman nominated by a major American party for President.

McCain: Obama is directly responsible for Orlando massacre.
Just my phone. No link yet. What an ass.
Vermont Senator Joins Filibuster
Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt, joined other Democrats in a filibuster Wednesday to advocate for gun law reforms. The effort on the floor of the U.S. Senate came in response to the Orlando gay nightclub massacre.
The filibuster where a senator holds the floor while speaking began shortly before noon Wednesday and was led by Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn. Leahy was one of several senators who signed up to help Murphy delay motion on a Commerce, Justice and Science appropriations bill until the Senate takes action on gun violence.
The bill includes funding for the departments of Justice and Commerce, NASA and other science-related agencies.
Leahy advocated for what he called common-sense gun laws. He called for universal, effective background checks and regulating assault weapons.

Forty Senators Have Thus Far Joined Senator Murphey's Filibuster.
A filibuster launched by a senator from Connecticut over gun control in the wake of the Orlando terror attack stretched past midnight Wednesday, more than 13 hours after it began.
"I've had enough. I've had enough of the ongoing slaughter of innocents, and I've had enough of inaction in this body," Sen. Chris Murphy, a Democrat, said during the filibuster on the Senate floor which he launched at around 11:21 a.m. Wednesday.
Forty senators have joined Murphy, according to C-SPAN2, broadcasting the proceedings.
Murphy opened the floor to other senators for questions but has not yielded the floor. Murphy said he wants Congress to enact tighter restrictions to prevent those with serious criminal histories; those deemed mentally incompetent; and those on terrorism watch lists from obtaining firearms.

Hillary Clinton set to make major advertising push in swing states
Hillary Clinton is set to storm the airwaves in a host of battlegrounds states as she looks to showcase a stark contrast between her vision for America and Donald Trump's.
Clinton purchased airtime beginning Thursday in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia, according to a Democrat who tracks media buys.
Trump, who advertised little in the Republican primary, has yet to go on the air in swing states but has traveled to several, including North Carolina and Florida, in recent days.
Clinton's push in what are expected to be closely contested states five months before the election highlights her campaign's effort to define Trump early on in the race, a tactic that President Obama successfully leveraged against Mitt Romney in the 2012 election.

Look at all those 'establishment' Democrats doing their jobs.
All those insiders actually working where change is actually made. I've never been so ashamed in my life.
Indiana man planning attack on LGBT festival was fleeing arrest for child molestation
James Wesley Howell was already under investigation for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl when he was arrested for allegedly planning to do harm to the Los Angeles LGBT Pride festival, the Indianapolis Star reported.
He understood that this child molesting investigation was ongoing and he was in imminent danger of being arrested, said Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull.
The girls mother alerted authorities about the alleged molestation on June 2, three days after the alleged encounter between her daughter and the 20-year-old suspect inside his car at a park, and shortly before his last reported sighting in the state.
They crawled in the back seat and did things they should not have been doing, the mother reportedly said in a police interview.
Howell was charged with one count of child molestation on Wednesday, a day after he was charged in California with unlawful possession of an assault weapon and explosives.

I saw Chris Murphy, Amy Kloubacher, Mark Warner, even a Republican. Where is Bernie?
Is he anywhere near the Senate chamber trying to push through the gun control measures he says he now supports?
Union leaders see no evidence of migration to Donald Trump
Local union leaders across the Rust Belt are voicing confidence that their members will stick with Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump in the race for the White House.
Trump has courted organized labor aggressively, staking out hard-line positions against free trade and immigration that resonated with blue-collar voters in the GOP primary.
Yet in interviews with The Hill, 58 local chapter leaders representing 19 unions in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin said they believe their members are overwhelmingly backing Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. The leaders represent local chapters with membership ranging from dozens to more than 1,000.
While many of their members have reservations about Clinton, the union leaders dont see signs of a groundswell toward Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
Theres nothing about Donald Trump that entices us when it comes to the construction industry, said John J. Dougherty, business manager of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council, a local branch of North Americas Building Trades Unions.
