Will Rubio's naked ambition cost him the VP slot?

I never thought I would see a politician more transparently ambitious than Mitt Romney but I found one: Marco Rubio. He moved up the publication date of his book, hired a team to do opposition research on himself and endorsed Romney now that the MSM stopped pretending anyone else had a chance. But will this hurt him? Everything I mention is inside baseball for people like us, but it's indicative of a quality that may apparent to other voters. Does Romney need anyone more ambitious than himself on the ticket?

Tom Barrett Enters Governor Recall Race

Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has ended weeks of speculation and entered the race to recall Republican Governor Scott Walker, setting up a potential rematch of the 2010 election.

Barrett announced his decision Friday. His announcement is just four days before he stands for re-election Tuesday as Milwaukee mayor. He faces little opposition in that race.

Barrett says he will begin campaigning for governor across the state on Saturday.

He said in an email to supporters Friday that he would fight to restore collective bargaining rights "because it's the right thing to do, and it's necessary to heal Wisconsin."

WI GOP To Run Placeholder Dem Candidates In All Recalls

he Republican party of Wisconsin will now run placeholder Democratic candidates in all scheduled recall elections, reports Wispolitics.com:

Republicans will run "protest" or "fake" Dems in all six upcoming recall elections, including guv and lt. guv.

Insiders have expected Republicans to run candidates in the Dem primaries for four Senate seats to ensure their candidates are on the same general election ballot as Gov. Scott Walker to help with turnout.

Trayvon Martin march planned for Saturday in Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Outrage is growing across the nation following the death of an African-American teenager in Florida at the hands of a neighborhood watch captain.

New surveillance footage apparently shows George Zimmerman without any injuries, this despite his claims that 17 year old Trayvon Martin attacked him.

Zimmerman has not been charged or arrested in the shooting and that has sparked nationwide protests.

Saturday night, hundreds of Utahns will gather to protest Martin's slaying.

White Supremacist Hacks Trayvon Martin’s Email Account, Leaks Messages Online

The racist smear campaign against Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black teen shot to death last month in Florida, has reached a new level of ghoulishness. A white supremacist hacker says he's broken into Martin's email and social networking accounts, and leaked his private Facebook messages. We've been able to confirm that at least one email account that belonged to Martin was cracked.

The hacker, who goes by the name Klanklannon, posted what he said were Martin's private Facebook messages to the politics section (NSFW) of the anarchic message board 4chan—called "/pol/"—Tuesday afternoon at around noon. The messages were posted on four slides, strategically arranged to back up the insane racist argument that Trayvon was a Scary Black Teenager and so somehow deserved to be killed by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman that night.

Progressive Muslims Launch Gay-Friendly, Women-Led Mosques

On this brisk Monday night in late October, members of Muslims for Progressive Values, a nascent American reformist organization, had gathered from around the country to celebrate a milestone: In four years, the group had grown from a few friends to a thousand members and spawned a string of small mosques and spiritual groups that stretched from Atlanta to Los Angeles.

Today, as America's Muslim leaders debate controversial topics like political radicalism inside mosques and states' attempts to ban Shariah law, this growing network of alternative mosques and Islamic groups is quietly forging a new spiritual movement.

They're taking bold steps, reinterpreting Islamic norms and re-examining taboos. While far from accepted by mainstream clerics, these worshippers feel that the future of the religion lies not solely with tradition but with them. Women are leading congregations in prayer, gay imams are performing Islamic marriages, and men and women are praying side by side.

This is not the norm for most of the 2.6 million-strong American Islamic community, accustomed to centuries-old traditions of gender relations and houses of worship that tend to draw primarily from a single ethnic group.

Funeral Director: No Signs of Fight or Struggle Present on Trayvon’s Hands

According to funeral director Richard Kurtz of Roy Mizell and Kurtz Funeral Home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin did not have any cuts or bruises on his hands to indicate that he was in a fight with George Zimmerman on the night that the neighborhood watch captain murdered him.

Speaking exclusively to HLN’s Nancy Grace, Kurtz said that when he prepared Martin’s body the only injury that was discernible was a gunshot wound to Martin’s upper-chest area.

Though Kurtz made it clear that he was not a forensic specialist, he shared that he had prepared the bodies of many homicide victims and the more he learned about the misconduct and negligence in Trayvon’s case the more he felt compelled to speak out.

Mitt Romney Tells 'Humorous' Story About Father Closing A Michigan Factory

Mitt Romney is known for his sometimes awkward sense of humor, and some of his biggest campaign missteps have come when he has made statements that seemed out of touch with Americans' economic struggles.

During a tele-town hall meeting with Wisconsin voters Wednesday, those two issues converged.

At the outset of his 35-minute conference call, Romney told what he thought was a "humorous" story about how his father once shut down a factory in Michigan and moved production to Wisconsin, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

"One of [the] most humorous I think relates to my father. You may remember my father, George Romney, was president of an automobile company called American Motors. ... They had a factory in Michigan, and they had a factory in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and another one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And as the president of the company he decided to close the factory in Michigan and move all the production to Wisconsin. Now later he decided to run for governor of Michigan and so you can imagine that having closed the factory and moved all the production to Wisconsin was a very sensitive issue to him, for his campaign."
